Appearance: Maka is of caucasian descent with her shin being pale in comparison to others. She looks younger than what her age would indicate because unlike other women her age she hasn't blossomed so much. Her standard outfit is a white shirt coupled with a green tie and beige sweater vest. Over the top of that she sports a long black trench coat and a red miniskirt with a plaid pattern. She also wears black boots with white buckles. She's got dirty blonnde hair which is almost always seen in pigtails. She has large green eyes. She is also usually seen wearing white gloves whenever she's wielding her scythe.
Personality: Maka was born under great shinobi, and like them she strives to be great as well. In particular, she idolizes her mother for being a strong woman and independent, while disliking her father for leaving her. She's been asked what her favourite memory of the two were, in which she replied with the day they got a divorce, as it showed her mother's determination and strong will.
Maka enjoys intellectual activities such as doing puzzles or reading books. She can be often seen with a large book in which she will occasionally perform a "Maka Chop", just hitting one of her friends over the head with the spine which can cause bleeding. Although being quite athletic in nature, she does prefer to stay indoors, studying and so forth. She's quite strict, moody and does anger quite easily, especially when she's being commented on how weak she is. Despite this demeanor, she respects her seniors and is quite casual with friends, usually with a tomboyish way of speaking.
Maka is generally bright, enthusiastic and cheerful most of the time, but this can sometimes be a burden leading her to dismay and in arguments with her friends. This can also lead her to be quite bossy at times, demanding that things be done. However over time she is capable of admitting to her mistakes and apologising for them. She's quite friendly and caring to her friends at times, which is really in contrast to her assertive nature. This isn't limited to her friends though, as she's willing to help out people who really need it as well. Maka is easily riled up and annoyed, which does cause some friends to stir her up for the sake of it. She's not as strong as her friends physically, but makes up for it with courage; being able to stand up to anyone no matter the person. She's also got a sense of honour, willing to honor a favour or gratitude of debt.

Background History
It all started with my mother, Kami and my father, Spirit. They were shinobi of Sunagakure who excelled at what they did, so like them I should live up to their expectations. My mother had a divorce with my father and I idolized her for that, the determination and strength she has. Nowadays I don't see my mother that much because she's travelling a lot. My father was deemed good enough to be one of the personal bodyguards of the Kazekage though, which is good. But enough about them, this is my story.
It all began in Sunagakure, I was 14 years old and about to be enrolled into Shibusen. This was a place for shinobi who had shown promise and were proved to be special in some way. It's said to specialise in giving out assassination missions. I would've gotten in because of my parents, which isn't fair but it's fine by me. There were introductions and we were instantly paired off with people who the staff there thought we'd be "compatible" with; someone who we would work well together. Long story short, I was paired with a boy named Soul Evans.
He was a fine man I would say, he always needed to be "cool" for some reason. He was part of the infamous Steel Release clan in Iwagakure and was invited here to Shibusen because of his abilities. His family was like mine, they were all high achievers, except they excelled in music. Soul could still keep up with them, but found out he had a talent for his steel release, so he followed that up. I don't know why, but he's capable of turning parts of his body into scythe blades. Talk about cool!
I remember the night we met that Soul played me a song, and that I was the only person he played it to. It was kinda eerie if you ask me, but he said it represented himself in a way.
About a year later through doing missions for Shibusen and studying and so on, we had one more mission to go before we coud advance to the next rank in the academy: kill a wicked woman. This woman was no one else but Blair, a woman who seemed to have a cat fetish and wore cat ears all around the place. She was known for her powerful ninjutsu techniques which are said to keep her alive as long as possible, or so to say to have nine lives.
Blair was a girl of about the same age as me, but unlike me she had more of a chest, in which gave Soul a bloody nose due to his perverted instincts. But alas, we all engaged in a fight. Using my athletic ability and Soul's prowess in the steel release, we tried as hard as we could to beat her, but couldn't. In the end Soul did seem a bit weird, just standing still on the ground not saying a word. I was shocked when he started to move over to Blair, maybe by some sort of genjutsu or arcane jutsu which I had no idea about. Although Soul had one more thing to say to me.
To be honest, I had no idea how to react to that, the feeling of being dumped and alone, I didn't think Soul would do something like this to me.
But much to my attention, it was all a ploy to kill Blair. Soul wrapped his arm around her turning it as hard as a steel blade and cutting her up in half. For a minute there I felt like breaking down because of this, but I knew Soul wouldn't betray me like that.
But to think it was all over, of course not! Blair's corpse seemed to vanish into thin air, like it was a mere genjutsu of which Soul chopped up. She appeared behind us like nothing had happened. There was nothing much we could really do, our chakra had almost been depleted completely. Blair did however become a companion of us and came to live with me, helping out around the house and so on. Of course we got back to Shibusen where Soul and I found out that we had to start all over again with our training and so on. It's terrible, but we have to live life as it goes on I suppose.
I suppose I should introduce two other people to the story. *hehe* One was Black Star, who was born to be a true assassin in Shibusen. He had big blue hair and a star tattoo on his right shoulder. He also liked to proclaim that he was a big man and was going to surpass god, or whatever that's about. His partner was Tsubaki, who was really easy going and just got along with everyone. She's the perfect partner for Black Star. They play a big part in the next part of the story.
After a few weeks the four of us were all assigned a mission together, a remedial mission. I didn't like the sound of going on a mission which normally stupid people would take, so I was dreading having to be put in the same group as Soul and Black Star. This was really a pass or fail mission, as if we didn't pass we'd be kicked out of Shibusen, and I'd have no idea about what to do if that ever happened.
This lesson took place at a weird house, covered in stitches. A man with a screw in his head had emerged from this house on a wheelie chair, falling over at the door stop. To be honest, I thought it was kinda weird at the time, but now it's funny. I knew from his weird aura that he would be our enemy to fight. He was known as Doctor Franken Stein, a medical genius and someone who used to attend Shibusen himself. It was even said that he was the greatest shinobi to ever graduate from there.
At first when we started to fight, it was chosen that Black Star and I would be the main people to attack, with Soul and Tsubaki aiding us. It was hard at first; Black Star and I were totally out of sync with each other, and Stein was just toying with us right from the beginning. We would eventually get over it, the synchronisation I mean, but it did take some time. Stein just grew more and more relentless by the minute, as well as his sadistic tendencies taking over his body. It was like he was about to kill us. I was frightened so much when he threatened to operate on me. I literally couldn't move in fear of him.
Black Star jumped out though screaming how he's going to be the big man of the scene with a rather punishing blow to his back while he was focused on me. However the obnoxiousness of him just alerted Stein and he could easily soften the blow against him using his medical prowess. I was still scared when he let go at just how powerful he was, and this wasn't even his full strength. I was about to give up on the fight.
That's when Soul started to give me inspiring words to help me out. Saying things like that I shouldn't give up no matter what the circumstances or that I wouldn't know if I could win unless I tried. His words inspired me to keep fighting, and together we put all our power and spirit into one final attack: the Witch Hunter. The attack where Soul and I both focus our respective chakras into the scythe to enlarge the head and create it to be like a crescent moon. We unleashed the attack on Stein, but due to our lack of control and sustainability, he was able to stop us.
Stein then went to take a powerful blow on me when Soul stepped in the way, taking the devastating hit. I just can't believe that he would do something like that for someone like me. But with his last breath he had to mutter something to me.
Those words endeared me to tears.
Stein was walking over to me at this point and I was still scared. WIth Soul and Black Star out of the fight I had no idea what to do. With his sinister smile he could only say one more thing to us before what I thought would be finishing us off.
To be honest, at the time I was shocked about what had happened for a second. Just forgetting that this was all a remedial lesson and that I was nearly killed and that we passed? Oh wow, I mean really. Stein was just asked to do this for Shibusen, and yeah.
The next few days Stein actually came back from his place to become a sensei at Shibusen. All we've really done is dissections of frogs and rare, endangered birds, but I'm not complaining. I also hear he's taken a real interest in my body, for being slim and just easy to work with, surgically of course. I have no intentions of following through with it, but I can't help anything which happens.

Maka has been shown to be quite proficient with the lightning element. Her constant training with Shibusen and Soul has also empowered that energy within her. She's gotten to the extent of using all lightning jutsu with only using the first three hand seals, as well as the jutsu with that element developing faster than usual for a regular shinobi.
Genjutsu
Maka has an incredible mind for unleashing genjutsu on her opponents. Her incredible talent for genjutsu enable her to recognize when her brain is playing tricks on her, being able to use perception and recognize genjutsu placed on her a lot easier than other people.
Puppetry
Maka is someone skilled in the art of puppetry. Her heritage from Sunagakure, being known for the famous puppeteer Sasori also helps in her confidence in puppetry. She's created several puppets of her own design, as well as temporary access to Kankuro's personal creations of Crow, Black Ant and Salamander.
Alongside this, she also wields a scythe at most times, being quite proficient with using it with her flexibility and athleticism.

~Approved~ genjutsu alwaus works on the inside, so that sentence didn't make much sense. Also removed puppet arm, come back when an official med ninja -with Nexus' approval- attaches such an arm.
