Vex is a tall and dignified young man with golden hair standing up like a blazing flame. He is described as handsome with an elegant face, and his eyes, crimson like blood, are visibly not those of a human and give off a mysterious radiance that makes people wither. He has a "perfect, Golden-proportioned body" described as emanating majesty that makes people afraid to come close. He normally wears golden armor that makes a heavy first impression on those he encounters. The armor is strong enough to protect him against simple freeform ninja tools, and the like, but won't help much against an actual jutsu. On his skin are a series of red tattoos. In his mouth, he has two tattoos. On the bottom of his lower lip, he has a tattoo to summon Pufferfish. On the inside of his upper lip, he has a tattoo, which he uses to summon toads. He is quite tall, appearing to be slightly over average height. His hair is at times extremely spiky, but at other times it is straightened. He has a series of red tattoos all over his body, but which are hidden by his clothing. These tattoos are not sealing formulas, as of yet. Vex also wears large pure golden earrings on both ears. Underneath his armor, is a red cloak. Vex's teeth are filed to a point. Most of the time, Vex wears jewelry to display his wealth.

Vex is extremely out-going. Even in the worst scenario, he always tries to get everyone pumped. He always speaks what's on his mind, even if it's extremely rude. He has an analytical mind, and is very smart although sometimes appearing to be an idiot. Vex however can become extremely enraged when his friends are injured, so he is very loyal. He isn't afraid of battle, and can even appear cold and detached to enemies. In this state, he can discuss death in a calm almost casual manner. However, most of the time he is a cheerful person and is almost always smiling. He has a large appetite, and his stomach has been called a "bottomless pit" by his friends over in the rock tavern. He is a very graceful person naturally, and a natural born dancer. He is the one in fact who taught Skulduggery Pleasant how to dance. Vex seems very sarcastic at times, and sometimes often down right rude. This is however most of the time in a playful manner, and not at all actually cruel. Most things that Vex say are a joke, this however isn't the case for those he dislikes. For them, he'll ridicule them in an extremely condescending way. A strange quirk would be Vex's love of math. When he fights, he uses complex mathematical equations to determine how best to react to a situation. He can do most of this almost instantly on the fly. He has what some would say a clock in his head. He can keep time perfectly, and almost always can tell what time it is, as well as functioning as a sort of stop watch. Vex has been trained in numerous non combat areas, so he is very good at many things. Such as: criminology, stealth, disguises, cooking, stealing, etc. He is a world class psychologist as well, and often puts himself in other people's shoes so as to better understand them, and anticipate them. He is also a brilliant and experienced strategist with superlative leadership skills, and is able to rally and unify his allies with his charismatic attitude.

History
Vex was born in the outskirts of Kirigakure, to unknown parents. Although, eyewitness reports seeing two human shaped silhouettes deep under the water, at the time of Vex's birth. With no one to care for him, Vex made his living as a petty thief. He was an underfed, and pitiful thing. One day, a strange green haired swordsman saw him. The swordsman carried three swords on him, and took pity on the young Vex. The swordsman decided to take Vex in, and raise him as he would a son. With tough love, Vex also began to train with the swordsman. This swordsman seemed to be very well-versed in the arts of close quarters combat, and Vex learned a lot. Vex had no formal training at an academy, he only had what he learned in the streets, and what the swordsman taught him. After a time, Vex decided to leave Kirigakure. He was resentful, at how the majority of the people treated him. When Vex left, the swordsman let him go easily. With a heartfelt goodbye, Vex began his journey.
Vex's travels took him all across the ninja world, and as he traveled he learned from many people. He then decided to travel in a far off land, searching for adventure, and he found it. Vex met up with a group called The Sanctuary, who were an underground group of shinobi fighting a secret war. Vex joined up with them, and eventually volunteered for a suicide mission....well volunteered may be a bit of a strong word. Vex was simply stretching his hand, and had accidentally volunteered. He decided to go anyways, and the men who went with him were Anton Shudder, Ghastly Bespoke, Saracen Rue, Corrival Deuce, Erskine Ravel, Hopeless, Larrikin, and the leader Skulduggery Pleasant. After coming back from the suicide mission alive, Vex and the others were called 'The Dead Men', and went on other suicide missions, always surviving. Eventually though, they lost some people. Larrikin died saving Vex, taking a kunai that was meant for him, while Hopeless, and Corrival Deuce also died sometime later. The stress of the missions began to take their toll, especially on Erskine Ravel. Erskine plotted the deaths of the Dead Men, but only managed to kill Anton and Ghastly.
Sickened with the whole ordeal, Vex allowed Skulduggery to take seek revenge on Ravel. He however, sought a new home. He journeyed to Iwagakure, and made his home there for many years, and made many friends there.

Gyojin and Taijutsu:
The Gyojin clan share some basic abilities related to their genetic traits, such as: their incredible physical abilities (about 2 times stronger and 1.5 times faster then a regular human), a naturally occurring mucoprotein (common to fish) that is both a protection against bacterial infections but also a natural insulator, the ability to breathe underwater, an uncommon resistance to D-rank and under water techniques, and finally incredible swimming speed.
Then, as you rise amongst the clan’s rank, a clansman develops/is taught some new abilities: a strong affinity with water (being able to use B-rank and under without handseals as well as defining their resistance to water jutsus, being unaffected by C-rank and under), a new branch of taijutsu called Gyojin Karate (customs to be submitted), the ability to sense bodies of water and everything inside a water source, and ultimately high rank clansman are allowed to sign the contract with the mighty Sea Kings (custom to be submitted).
Vex was born naturally ambidextrous, and with above average physical capabilities. Then, as he went on through life, learning to fight with numerous fighting styles, and increasing his physical power and speed, he reached his current levels of power. He has increased his reflexes, two fold, along with strength and speed past average shinobi. Due to being a Gyojin and taijutsu specialist, his base speed is about 2 times faster than normal shinobi.
Water and Earth:
Due to being a part of the legendary Gyojin clan, Vex obviously specializes in water. He can use all water jutsu at a faster rate than other shinobi, and with only a single handseal. While living in Iwagakure, Vex has picked up many tips and tricks for use with earth chakra. This allows him to perform earth faster than the average shinobi, and with reduced handseals.
Will of Stone:
Vex as a member of Iwagakure, is a very loyal shinobi. He has a "Rock Hard Will", and does not give up easily at anything he attempts. Due to his strong will, and charisma, Vex is hard to kill. He has a powerful life force, and small injuries won't effect him, or bring him down.
