If you real Hip Hop heads ain't notice Krit released a suprise for us a few days ago. Now I wanted to sit and let this marinate for a min but you know what. Been listening to this back to back ever since the second it hit the net so this review is backed up enough to were I feel it can be detailed enough. Now for those of you who don't know Krit is a Southern Rap artist Straight Outta Mississippi. He started his debut lowkey like all the other underground artists and worked his way up to becoming King Of The Underground. So without further ado, It's Better This Way lovlies. :ilu:

1. Intro - Krit leaves behind his Sev', a metaphor to him going a different route with his music from here. Which means more of that AtLiens type deal that you young bucks don't know bout! Interesting thing he's doing with the theme though, going to love to see where this goes. The Cover is even more of a pleasant departure from his Return of 4 Eva Esque covers which I believe eludes into even more of a background but I'm gonna let your mind figure out the wizardry.
2. King Pt 4. - Continuing the King series with another classic. Wish this was labeled Intro instead just so it could go down as one of the best of 2015 which is by far one of the most competitive years in rap since 2011. Now in this track we see Krit talking about the struggles he's gone through to become the player king pimp he is today. The instrumental is full of the soulfulness one would find in a jazz album Saxophones blare through the piano as the bass sends shivers b. It's a beautiful production which is produced by Kenneth Whalum and Krit himself. He isn't under pressure. He isn't following any sort of ordinary technique that these Hotline Bling rappers doing. He isn't following any trend. He is breaking down the barriers of ya soul with this one. The ending skit see's krit talking to the same character from the track 1986. They begin reminiscing again leading into the next track.
3. 86 - (We really need a No DJ version of this album!!!) Bringing back that soulful Big Krit production but in an amazing extra terrestrial way. We have Krit spittin over a bass heavy rhyme about his Sev'. This track will blow ya speakers out love. Son this is not a song to play with the kids in the backseat because this will bust there drums wide open! Really a sequel to 1986 it feels like but a new road in sound indeed.
4. No Static ft. Warren G - Another alien beat lol these things are damn amazing. Production is so 5 star on this track but then that damn Dat Piff at the end ruins it a bit
5. Piece On The Chain - Now put the piece on the chain! Put the piece on the chain! IF SHE BOUT THAT POOOLE Keep her going arooound and around!!! So damn catchy lol Verses full of Krit spitting about his life struggles and crazy fast southern accent at full spring. Production by Krit is A1 yet again. Another well put together track giving us another look at the southern style at it's best. Now put the Piece on the chain b.
6. Shakem Up - SasukeBase needs to listen to this one right here Lol this is gonna make you cringe until you're executed by a rasengan or sumthin lmfao I kid I love you guys you bring life to the party at times. A song about these broke negros and these broke lames. Not diggin it at all yo. Just a mediocre piece of production too. Guests on the track are K Camp and Ludacris. K Cam does a horrible job and Luda spits a verse I just am not caring for at all. Doesn't fit here. Let Krit do his thing damn. Or get Bun B to do it for ya bish.
7. How Bout That Money - Man... two Dj Drama esqu tracks in a row... not liking where this is going yo. Though Krits last verse is real af deserves a listen just for that.
8. In The Darkness - A WOLFE de MCHLS produced track. I just ain't feeling it at the beginning but then it really get's creative when Krit begins spittin. He creates a theme for the track that leads to a sort of beat change which makes it a lot more pleasing to the ears. Can really get down with tracks like this if this is where Krit is talking about heading. As long as they are well thought out and have crazy production similar to this.
9. Vanilla Sky - This is relaxation right here. Chill and think on life and it's struggles. It's hard out here for an artist and Krit gives a detailed explanation over a soulful beat produced by himself yet again yo. The production on this thing is nothing to play about. He is coming for heads yo. J. Cole and his beat thief ass ain't got nuthin on this. Crazy how that dude even got the shine he has. Oh yea, because all of his fanbase is to young or either have no musical experience with the genre they claim to love. This needs to be addressed yo Cole is going to far man. He even gets to make a collab album with Kendrick now!? Smh So many others deserving of that spot.
10. Got Me Thru ft DeLorean - A song praising the struggles of becoming that rap artist we all want to be like. DeLorean starts us off with a money hungry standpoint. Struggle spittin at it's finest people. Over a luxurious alienated beat too mmmmm this production. The Outro gives you shivers it's so soulful you have to listen for that alone.
11. Can't Be Still ft. Bj The Chicago Kid - Man this is straight out the church house. Like I seriously think this was produced in the halls of the holy house my lovlies. It's just so well produced I lost myself in the beat on the first few listens lol It's a track where Krit is begging for a spritual healing. He goes back in forth explaining his background comparing it to his new life as a king playa pimp. It really opens your eyes when an artists say something as.
So I'ma hit the road like a flat tire
Run these brakes 'till they squeak
And I'ma pimp what I can from Def Jam
Cause I know my worth ain't cheap
He see's the industry for what it truly is and isn't going to let them stop his mixtape spree of classic material. Krits Discography is a beautiful thing indeed. Bj The Kid is giving amazing vocals beside Krits to give a nice Southern taste for yo soul. Definitely a song to revisit after a long day of grindin ma's.
12. Keep It Boomin!!!! - A damn celebrationale track!!! YEAH!! Celebrating where Krit has made it to and damn is it a nice track. I don't know what the hell that heavenly roar is in the background but damn is it pleasing lol. No idea how Krit does it man. This will kill in the whip for you negros too so be thankful ya blessed with that AtLiens sound he has on this mystical chant. Oh man the ending of this track is 90's babies spine breaking too. ****ing beautiful.
13. Party Tonight -
I just wanna see my friends in big body Benzes
Pay they bills and feed they kids
On occasion
We hit the club or go vacation
In places we never seen
That be amazing
We all dreamers not petty schemers
Although you think
Know you racist, know you hate me
You too anxious to up and shoot me
That shit so stupid, look how they do me
This my last night, come and scoop me, saying
Lord let us party tonight indeed. A real eye opener for the blind eyed. You know it's gonna be the end soon, but dammit this is a night for us. He goes into his next verse explaining the mindset of the zombies man. Doing it just to get over the pain loves. Tomorrow ain't promised so give this album a spin and enjoy ya selves, because this production will give you goosebumps.
14. It's Better This Way - Song of the year. Period. Now I'm about to go into intense detail for this one so if you not sure how I feel about this track and wanna short review here you go.
LISTEN TO THIS SONG! IT'S BETTER THIS WAY!!!!
This is what it's all been leading up to. This song is so damn flawless in my ears. What could be anymore pleasing to hear? Let's start by discussing the production. It's hypnotizing. It lures you in with a time traveling melody that just begins to hypnotize you and think you're in an spacecraft off to the land of the Mississippiens. The bass and melody during the chorus is so flawless man. How can you get something to sound this damn eargasming. I need to take my ass to college lol. Now let's get to the lyrics which is what makes this so damn golden star studded.
It’s better this way
You don’t really like what they play
On the radio every single day
Ain’t no telling when it’s gon' change
Cause they all really say the same things
It’s better this way
If you looking for some original soul
I know where you should go
It’s better this way
A pure and simple fact. Sung in the most southern soulful way possible as a rapper of course lol You don't like it and you need something that is going to make you feel better. Give you a better outlook on life not something that is going to bring you down or something that is so damn generic it's hurting your ears. It's about change lovelies. It's about soul.
Nowadays we flex so much
Get a check so much
We never chill
Way to drunk to drive
High as ****
Plus we poppin pills
Celebrate the very shit
That slow us down and probably kill
Song ain’t even jamming though
Number one in every field
Got that on repeat
Right before you wake
On your way to work
On your way to church
Stuck in traffic
Right before you go to sleep
I know you tired
Of that overdrive
That commercialized sing along
Wonder why they play this song all the time, Damn!
All Drake fans solod GG Lmfao it's the wizardry people. It's not good for hip hop nor is it good for your souls. It's so well spit too with the beat switching when he makes the outcast reference. A God of the game just telling pure facts over this kind of production isn't that easy to come by these days ma's. Thanks for reading my loves and hope you have a wonderful NB filled day! Just remember. It's Better This Way.
