Finally got to go out and see the successor to the legendary Days of Future Past. Now I'm just gonna let you know right now. Days of Future Past is like 10 times better LOL Like it's not even a contest. Days of Future Past is a damn masterpiece of a movie in my opinion. You feel the weight of each characters motives and you really understand what exactly is at stake here. What Apocalypse has to do is get you to feel this on an even higher plane. Does it bring it's 3rd movie is always worse meme to death? Let's find out my loves.
Cinematography - Well, I have to say the camera work is very well done and it's all presented very well. There isn't a problem in this category whatsoever. There are a bunch of scenes that REALLY stood out because of the amazing cinematography. Shots like the Magneto scene where he's in the woods is a VERY touching scene. Almost bringing me to tears even. I couldn't believe the emotion that was captured in that scene. Amazing acting done on Michael Fassbender's part, as if he hadn't been in this movie, it surely would have tanked. And let me tell you about this Quicksilver scene b...

I'm not going to spoil it for you... but my goodness they ALMOST topped the Days Of Future Past Scene for me. It's just that the music that was playing didn't go along with what he was doing as perfect as the previous song during his running scene. And what sucks the most is that you really don't get to see his powers displayed that much in this movie. Age of Ultron had much more Quicksilver action and I was surprised. And even though he's in this second movie, he's just as much of a character as he is in Ultron. I can't really say I enjoy one over the other. It's all about preference at this point. You like an older Quicksilver or younger 80s one? I mean I don't know people. (Just give the rights to Marvel fam)
As always, I'll show you some of my favorite parts of the film, without spoiling the hell out of it LOL

Plot - This is where this movie really falls flat for me. I mean how hard is it people? Harry Potter did a great job year after year all the way up to it's last movie. Which broke hella records and cemented itself as one of the best movies created. And you people can't create a damn trilogy. How is it so difficult to create a trilogy these days??? Good grief I can't see it being that hard. I honestly cannot. Not if your first and second movies from the franchise are critically acclaimed. To be honest I sort of had a feeling nothing they released could top Days of Future Past. It's just too much of a deeply rooted storyline. This right here was just full of too many characters trying to be rebooted. More of the same past conflicts that we don't see a resolution too. And Magneto get's more bad guy good guy back to being the bad guy scenes.
Now the movie starts off with each of the characters getting their little back stories and for the time being I didn't have a problem with this but it just went on and on and on. And I 'm just like "Damn is there a body to this story? Or is this going to be in it's introductory stage for the entire movie?" LOL I mean you can only drag this on for so long. Some of them aren't even interesting. Like Psylocke for example. Like why should I even give a damn about her personality and don't give her any lines either. Just shove tits and purple swords in my face. I'll be a happy fapboy.

*sigh* And then we get to the Xavier school and we don't even get anything interesting there. Why on Earth even introduce the mansion is what I was thinking. A waste of time. Should have been introduced in the final film rather than in First Class.
En Sabah Nur is the main villain in this film. He isn't much of a menacing presence in this film at all, but his backstory on how he came to be Apocalypse was actually pretty decent for the most part. It's just that he didn't sell me Apocalypse. He sold me a shallow villain in a pair of purple timberlands.

So basically he get's put to sleep and some years later awakens, not finding the world in a state that he likes it to be in. So he picks out his four horsemen from a lineup of mutants, and goes out to destroy all man made weapons. In this he is successful, but afterwards he intends to rule over the world. That's where the X-Men come in.
Now there was just a bunch of questions that ran through my mind when watching this. I mean Jean Grey already has something within her that I wont spoil, but they need to explain exactly when she came to possess this power, because this is a very important storyline in the X-Men lore. Which will probably collide in with Deadpool and Cables story. Which is why we most likely will never get to see the X-Men alongside the Avengers. Fox isn't making nearly as much money but they are doing a good enough job to where they don't have to sell them off. Bad Magneto, Good Magneto, Bad Magneto. Fox make up your damn minds!! JUST MAKE HIM EVIL AND LIVE WITH YOUR DECISION! good grief we've seen this in how many X-Men films??? It's like it has to be based around him or Xavier or Wolverine. If not they aren't making an X-Men film. Why is it that everyone except Marvel is afraid of sticking to the root of the comics. You act like it's hard to do! Either that or the directors are too lazy to do some damn research and instead would like to appeal to the masses. Then there is this Quicksilver storyline that went nowhere in the end. I mean there is just nothing good happening with this Plot this go around. And after the amazing plot Days of Future Past had!!?? I was in TEARS at the end of Days of Future Past. It was beautiful! And here we are with another 3rd film in the franchise that doesn't do the second film justice.
Another thing I want to touch on is the whole bald Xavier thing. What is so special about that? LOL I mean I know it was hyped up in the trailers and all but you only see him bald at the end in the school. Really not much of a reveal for you because the weight behind it was just so shallow, that you would have rather he just decided to shave his head one day LOL
The entire set up that leads to the Apocolypse is just way to long. It drags on and on for hours and then you get a boss battle that just doesn't deliver much out of the team of noob X-Men. Only experienced ones here are Beast and Mystique but all Mystique does is get choked. All Apocolypse had to do was break down every Mutant to dust, but instead he just walks around slow and makes his horsemen do everything. This villain was a dumb ass. Just break the X-Men down on a cellular level. BOOM fight won.
Effects - Everything was good in this category except for Apocalypses wall powers. They could have made those seem a lot more realistic because when people were getting sucked in it looked like play doh LOL Maybe this will be touched up upon in the future but for now it's a negative for me. The 3D was an amazing experience. Definitely worth the money if you're seeing it in 3D, but for a 2D ride, things wont be as enjoyable.
5/10
