Chapter 2 – Inception
The darkness of downtown New York brings out the shine of the street lights that reflect off a large thick headed bald man who carries a silver briefcase. He stands in a dark alley awaiting a rusty door to open up. He begins to pound on it with his fist, and a few seconds later it slowly opens.
“Kingpin, the Lord awaits you.” A soldier in green armor says.
“Well it’s about damn time.”
Kingpin walks down a hallway into a room where a league of villains sit in front a theater screen. Black Cat, Mystique, and Bulls Eye all look back at him as he finds his seat in the back row.
“He never said anything about others.” Kingpin says scowling.
“We were thinking the same thing.” Mystique says as a small object on the ceiling projects a green hologram of Doom in front of them.
“If it isn’t the Lord himself.” Kingpin says smirking.
“Your sarcasm will get you killed before it garners any laughter. Now you thought this was just a meeting with you and me but as you look next to you, you see another man or woman with an objective of their own. Kingpin in need of growing his empire on earth. Bullseye with the need to destroy Daredevil who is in alliance with The Avengers. Black Cat wanting to steal away Parkers power…”
“You want to steal the powers of Peter Parker!? You do know how strong he has become correct!?” It’s a miracle we aren’t in prison ourselves…” Kingpin says.
“Rumor has it he got that strong from that Avenger who died in the battle against Thanos. I want to take that power from him and reclaim his heart in the same fashion she did.” Black Cat says.
“This is ludicrous! A damn love backing isn’t enough for me to accept her a as a partner in this investment.” Kingpin says his face red in frustration.
“If she does not hold out her part she will die, it is the same as with the rest of you. So quiet down and let me continue.” Doom says his hologram increasing in size.
“You underestimate how much I envy Peter’s love affairs. If he likes ninja I’ll shall become the strongest one known to man.”
Dooms hologram nods and turns to Mystique who looks up from filing her nails smirking.
“Now you are the only one here that did not give my men a complete reason. Speak now.” Mystique stands walking up to Doom’s hologram, staring it in the face.
“I’ve become the leader of a brotherhood of mutants. We have a goal of conquering a certain corporation. By doing that we will need funds. And a lot of man power. I will fight for your cause against the Avengers as long as you can promise to support my cause and its expenses.” Doom stares at her for a moment as if he was caught in some sort of allusion. Then shaking his head as if to wake himself.
“Agreed. Now if you would please follow the commander to the hover jet. It will be taking you to Egypt.”
“What the hell? Egypt!?” Kingpin says.
“En Sabah Nur.”
“We’ve failed ourselves by not getting him back. You should have let me speak to him maybe then…”
“No. He had his mind made up.” Naruto says interrupting The First, who frowns looking out at the city of Manhattan.
“Tony we’ve picked up some information regarding a meeting between some baddies.” Scott whispers showing him a video of a rusty door letting in an orange head woman with a white coat.
“Gather a team and check it out for me will ya. Kind of busy with this Doom thing. We’ve got to prepare for the worst.”
“Gather a team? I’d think at this point we would all be assembled. This is going to be a war and we both know it.”
“No we don’t!” Tony says looking around to see if anyone heard his high pitch whispering.
“Look we don’t need all our attention on a few villains meeting up. Get a small team together and go find out what you can.”
“Gonna go to Cap about this instead.” Scott says. As he is walking away lights flicker and Tony looks at his tablet questioning Jarvis on the event.
“Dammit one thing after another. Scott, Jarvis doesn’t know what’s going on. Go check this out.”
“Already on it.”
Scott looks through the Towers mainframe diagram on his tablet as he runs to the control hub of the tower beginning to piece together the constant outages.
Kakashi, Naruto and Sakura sit on the edge of the Avengers Tower’s landing pad looking out at the city as the sun begins to set.
“I know I haven’t talked in a while. So I’ll start of by saying how much of a beautiful nightmare this planet has been.” Sakura says.
“I think we all can agree with you on that one. Stuck on a planet full of so much life. Life you don’t know a damn thing about, but had to learn. We all did even you Sakura. For a while anyways.” Naruto says as Sakura buries her face between her knees. Kakashi stands up while sighing and the two look back at him.
“What happened to believing Naruto? Sakura? This is only the beginning of a long journey ahead don’t look at it as a lifelong thing. See it as a new chapter.”
“A new chapter filled with stopping bank robbers and flying through the sky with superheroes for two years.” Naruto says laughing.
“Have you eaten any of those hotdogs yet? Sakura?”
“No mostly been eating bacon hamburgers.”
“Yea those things are amazing. Peter said something about going to Taco Bell. Wonder if he’s talking about that big bell monument they have.”
“Um, I’m thinking that’s a fast food service they have here.” Kakashi says.
“You’ve been on more missions that the both of us, of course you would know.” Naruto says.
“Well of course. They made it my job to learn as much as possible from the people here. As is Shikamaru, who I think has learned a bit too much.” Kakashi says looking back at Shikamaru who is working on an aircraft’s engine.
“Imagine how much knowledge we’re going to bring back. It’ll change everything.” Sakura says.
“We don’t need to change too much. Our planet will catch on when it’s ready. I know we don’t need guns though. Those things are nothing but trouble to anyone who touches it.” Kakashi says.
“Wouldn’t it be more of the users blame though?” Naruto asks.
“I don’t even want to talk about them. Tenten is probably already thinking of a new shotgun blueprint to take back with her.” Kakashi says face palming.
“All she does is work on those guns. It’s like a fetish for her or something.”
Sakura smacks the back of Naruto’s head and he holds it beginning to tear up.
“Watch your mouth sicko!”
“Ow! It was just a joke!”
Kakashi laughs as the two bicker on, but the lights begin to flicker around them causing an alarm to go off.
“Naruto and Sakura stay here!” Kakashi says dashing off.
Kakashi dashes into the control hub where Scott runs around the control center unplugging wires and finally shutting the alarm off. He plumps himself on the ground in sweat as he looks up at Kakashi.
“Something’s trying to get in.”
As Naruto and Sakura begin to run into the tower a large gust of wind hits there back as a Jet turns off its camouflage revealing itself and a circular hatch quickly opens underneath it, lowering a dispatch of mutants.
“Naruto hurry and get Kakashi! I’ll hold them off.” Sakura says.
“Um Sakura. They’re the X-Men…” Naruto says.
“The what?”
Professor X hover his chair from off the platform up to Sakura and smiles looking up at her.
“The X-Men, miss Haruno.”
The ninja along with all the hero present in at the Avengers tower gather in the dining hall. They stand around a table stretching 20ft across aligned with food and drinks. Choji runs around the table with a large plate collecting two of everything, then making his way to a seat beginning to stuff his face in like a rabid dog.
“Yea eat it up. This definitely is a dinner party and not a meeting about a war or anything serious like that you sloppy pig you!” Deadpool says.
“The hell did you just call me!?”
Choji begins to run after Deadpool who draws both of his swords. They both freeze in midair as Professor X clears his throat.
“So how is everyone this evening?” Charles says smiling.
“How can you even ask that!?” Tsunade shouts.
“Well considering you all have a meal laid out and everyone is in such a hyperactive mood I’d guess your motives to go against Doom aren’t at as high of a level as they should be.”
“Hell are you talking about Charles? We’ve been working our asses off in here.” Logan says.
“Not all of you. Some are here moping around as if this isn’t a universal distress. It’s become a team effort as a planet. No as planets has it not? So why do you sit here moping around young Haruno? Why do you drink your problems away Hokage Tsunade? There are lives on the line on this one as well. Including yours.” Charles says looking Naruto in the eyes.
“Charles is right. This is something we all need to realize. This is gonna be a worldwide war. He’s not just going for you all. He wants everyone.” Rogue says.
“And we agree. It’s just the fact that we have another problem on our hands. Sasuke Uchiha. He’s one of theirs turned back to the dark side and he’s after some humongous power. If he gets it we may have yet another Doom on our hands.” Steve says.
“I mean we’ll handle that *sshole when we get to him. What about the civilians we need to keep them as safe as possible. Have the eyes to the skies waiting for Dooms arrival, because when he does get back it’s going to be hell on earth. Again.” Cyclops says.
“Sasuke Uchiha isn’t just some *sshole he’s a super *sshole which means he’s a very large threat.” Shikamaru says.
“A super *sshole? C’mon you know he’s a bit larger than that. He betrayed us for peak sakes he’s dead as soon as I…”
“SHUT UP!!” Naruto yells interrupting Logan who sighs rubbing his head.
“You all don’t know how it is… to be a ninja… to have everything taken from you. To live the life he had to live. To endure the things he did. We were once the best of friends. I’m not blind. I know that time is over, but you’ll have to kill me before you slander his name in my presence.” Naruto says, his eyes in fox mode.
“Well this has turned into more of an argument than a friendly discussion. Let’s change that.” Tony says throwing a small cube onto the table causing the lights to dim. A hologram ejects from the cube forming the shape of Latveria.
“We can take this from him while he’s gone.” Tony says.
“And what use would that have to us?” Beast asks.
“Well you see there’s an access to the underground area that he didn’t take with him. All we gotta do is get rid of the shield, get past a few of his bots maybe. I mean if we work together on this we could probably get some valuable Intel. Especially if he’s left anyone of impotance behind.”
“This all seems to be on a guess. Maybe he left some Intel. Maybe he left someone in charge. This isn’t worth the effort we need to prepeare an evacuation site in every major location untl his return into this solar system.” Reed says.
“Oh I’m sure we can be prepared before he even makes it back into this galaxy.” Tony says smirking.
“The hell did he even go?” Scott asks.
“He left our radar as soon as he went past the moon. He most likely went through some sort of portal or either his castle can survive high speed space travel which is highly unlikely.” Tony says.
“This is Doom we’re talking about.” Fury says.
“It’s a stone castle.” Tony says condescendingly.
“Tony’s right. Doom has created a portal on his own there is no way that castle can survive a jump like that. Question is where is he headed to?” Reed asks leaving a short silence.
“Sasuke said something about acquiring more power. If anything they are training right now.” Naruto says.
“Yea but that doesn’t tell us much they could be training anywhere.” Beast says.
“Did he say exactly what kind of power he was going for?” Storm asks.
“Yea he said something about Cosmic energy? And magic ya know wizard stuff.”
“Well this is just great. Another Doctor Doom being born and we didn’t do a damn thing to stop it. You should have killed him on site kid.” Logan says.
“You know what? I’m tired of your damn mouth!” Naruto yells going into chakra mode unleashing a blast of red chakra that shakes the floor.
“Wanna go bub? We can do this right now! Don’t freeze us Charles the kid has gotta learn!”
Naruto throws a chakra rod at Logan who slices it and leaps forward punching Naruto who flies into the window then plumping onto the ground.
“I let you get that one. Hope you can do better than that.” Naruto says as Logan tackles him onto the ground and swings his fist. Naruto grabs his arm with a chakra hand and throws Logan into Beast who tosses him on the ground.
“Get up Logan. Show’em what a got.” Beast says sarcastically.
“Ya damn right I will!” Logan says throwing a chair. Naruto breaks into pieces with his chakra hand as Logan slides underneath him cutting the chakra hand off and upper cutting Naruto into the ceiling. Naruto thrusts himself down as Logan jumps up. Logan slashes him in the arm causing the shadow clone to disappear and smoke to disperse around him.
“The hell was…” Logan pauses as he sees a blue light burst into his chest as he hits the tale shattering it to pieces.
“Rasengan!”
“Naruto stop it now!” Kakashi yells jumping in front of Logan who crawls to his feet healing from the blow rapidly. Naruto goes into his base mode, but his eyes stay fox red as a deep voice begins to speak to him.
“You really think protecting Sasuke’s image will portray him as a man who only needs convincing. Start accepting it Naruto. The old Sasuke is gone. That Sasuke was but a shell of his true self.” Kurama says.
Naruto looks up at him tightening his fist, and Kurama stares back with a scowl.
“I won’t let them do what needs to be done. It’s my job to deal with him. I feel it and I know you do as well.”
“It isn’t about feelings anymore Naruto. It’s about what’s best for the people.”
“Who even knows if the people here care about us anyways? We’re only aliens to them.”
“That’s not true and you know it. Peter treats you as a brother and The Avengers have done nothing but try to ease the pain of being stuck here. Tony giving you a free passage to go visit the sites and Natasha showing you around them. Maybe this is as Kakashi said, a new chapter in our lives.”
“We’ll die by the end of it. You do realize the strength of some of these supervillains right? I heard one was made of crystal and had telepathic powers.”
“Yes I know of the tales, but there is something you fail to realize you idiot.”
“Oh yea!? Well what’s that?”
“As long as you have friends around you. Anything is possible.”
Naruto’s eyes begin to fade back to blue as Sakura wraps her arm around his neck.
“You idiot you broke Tony’s table!”
“Yea! And are you going to reimburse me for that table?” Tony asks.
“Ow! Okay I’m sorry I’ll pay off the table by not ranting on anymore!”
“Sounds like a damn good deal to me…” Rhodes whispers.
“You alright Logan? Didn’t mean to go that far. I was actually trying to hold back since I know you aren’t all that strong as some of the others like that Vision guy.” Logan suddenly grabs him by his shirt and lifts him in anger.
“The hell did you just say to me!? Oh forget it… I’m going to check on the damn hub.” Logan says dropping him and leaving the room.
“Okay now that that mess is over. I have come to a conclusion.” Charles says hovering to Tsunade.
“Let’s say we were able to pinpoint where your planet is located. We want to help you all get home today.”
“Wait… are you serious!?” Tsunade asks her face lighting up.
“Yes, but it is up to the leader to decide and well I thought it was you being that you’re the one always talking out when we meet.”
“Well actually I run this joint!” Hashirama says waving.
“And what do you say to that Hashirama? Would you like to go home?”
Hashirama begins to rub his chin thinking. He closes his eyes slowly lowering his head.
“No.”
“What do you mean no!? I want to go home and see my parents!” Choji yells.
“Everyone in the leaf village is counting on us to return! They are probably worried sick! Or better yet think we have all died!” Lee yells.
“Sasuke is our problem. It’s only right that we deal with him. Those of you who want to leave may go, but I am staying.” Hashirama says.
“Dammit Grandfather why must you be so persistent!? They said they could handle it so let them handle it!” Tsunade says.
“Tony you heard the man. Do you still have the portal X1 schematics I gave you?” Charles asks.
“Yes, I’ll get Jarvis to have a Mark 1 running as fast as possible.” Tony says, as the lights flicker and then go out, leaving nothing but moonlight shining in on them.
“Backup Generators must not be your thing huh?” Deadpool says.
“Why’d you unfreeze him? Jeez this is going to be a long night.” Tony says as the light flash back on and Spider-Man floats in the air in front of them.
“Anyone know how to stop the bad guys from damaging the mainframe at an accelerating rate? No? Didn’t think so…”
“So instead of helping us face Doom, you sit on type of a mountain drinking a martini.” Bruce says.
“It’s not exactly what I had in mind okay. I’ve been off a bit…” Peter says.
“Look Spidey the past is the past. Question is are you here to fight with us or not? We need everyone on this.” Steve says.
“I’m here to fight cap, and run by me what happened to Naruto again.”
“I had a talk with Sasuke, and he said he was going to get stronger. Gain Cosmic energy and magic.”
“Sounds like you’re going to need to some more training in too!” Peter says putting his hand on Naruto’s shoulder.
“I can help you get stronger Naruto. You won’t just be able to beat Sasuke, but protect your planet better. Sort of like I have.”
Naruto gives a cheesy smile then giving a thumbs up.
“Believe It!”
Sasuke steps onto a green conduit symbol closing his eyes and concentrating on all the pain that brought him to this point. The room around him is lit with candles and the fire on each turn green as the conduit glows.
“This is a connection with the Hazareth Three. Servents of Mephisto with now a link to his power through his will when he attacked Earth. He’s let his guard down so until he notices a substantial drop of power you will be gaining a humongous amount of cosmic power. Afterwards you will be taught the mystic arts. Dark arts.”
“Well what are we waiting for…?” Sasuke says as two serpents jump from the conduit latching around his arm and setting him on fire.
“The pain will make you stronger. Death will gain you nothing.”
“What are you doing!!? You’re going to kill him!!” Karin yells attempting to attack Doom who thrust back his hand creating a force field that blows her backwards into the ground. Sasuke screms in pain as the fire stops and a purple aura surround his body.
“You will stay here absorbing for days. Months even. Are you prepared to take on the universe?” Doom asks.
“Yes…” Sasuke says smirking as his rinnegan begins to bleed.
“This is horrible. Sasuke will die if he continues down this path.” Jugo says.
“Only if we as a team do not give him the backing he…”
Sasuke begins to scream absorbing energy rapidly as more serpents begin to come from the conduit covering his body like a cocoon.
“Impossible. He’s making the process go faster…” Doom says.
“You really think Sasuke wants to stay here for months…” Karin says slowly standing from the ground.
“You’ve shown him too much hope. He’s going to do anything to get it now.”
“And is that such a bad thing young lady?”
“Uchiha don’t need this much of a push. It’s going to create an imbalance and it’s going to get people killed.”
“Yes, it will. Now go check on Orochimaru and ask how Latveria is doing. If it isn’t running at a pristine level he will die.”
“Do you even care for another’s life?” Jugo asks.
“Before I can answer that question young man tell me. Would you in my position?”
“That’s what I don’t understand. What kind of event could make you so cruel!?” Jugo says as tears begin to fall from his eyes.
“War.”
Karin sits at a large computer screen that displays Orochimaru surrounded by armored soldiers and snakes that slither across the ground. He smiles as he takes a sip of his martini then eating the olive by stretching his tongue down the glass.
“Yeesh can you tone down the creepiness a notch. Doom wants to know how things are going at Latveria.”
“It’s going very well I suppose. Though I did have to kill two people to set an example.”
“You killed people!? Dooms going to kill you if you mess this up you know that right!?”
“They were prisoners so I don’t think he’ll mind much... So Karin how is our Sasuke?”
“In a lot of pain. Doom has him in sort of ball of snakes and it’s making him stronger.”
“Ah so he was telling the truth… This man isn’t to be played with then…”
“No not at all. Do you think we’re going to get to go home anytime soon?”
“Yes I do. But when that man says we can.”
“Wait.” Tobirama says as Peter and Naruto turn to him.
“Hey Second Hokage! How you been?” Peter asks.
“I’ve been thinking what made you think you could have the leaf village’s symbol on your back.”
“The same thought that came from allowing your fellows to have an Avenger’s uniform. You act like we’re some sort of aliens. We’re just like you all just from a different background.”
“Enough arguing over his suit brother what is your problem!?”
Tobirama begins to exit the room when he suddenly turns around staring out of the window.
“Something’s coming.” Charles says hovering over to the window along with the rest of the team.
“It can’t be… This feeling…” he says hovering backward as the room begins to shake. The lights go out and the window shatters into pieces as a large blue figure flies toward them.
“It’s Beasts big brother here to save us all! Yay!” Deadpool screams.
“No it’s…” Charles begins to float into the air as the X-Men stand guard around him.
“The Apocalypse.” Rogue says as a hovercraft rises from below them and begins shooting into the tower. Susan puts a shield in front of them blocking the bullets as a hole opens up in the hallway everyone jumps into it as it floats everyone to the top of the tower.
“Everyone stand your ground. We will not let this tower be destroyed!” Tony says
“Again.” Deadpool adds making Tony give him a stern look which he replies with a shrug.
Apocalypse floats toward them with his arms crossed. As the avengers look up awaiting his first move he looks down at each of the heroes.
“You’re here to kill us aren’t you beast!? Did Doom send you!?” Thor asks
“No. I just came to shiver your spines and steal some data.”
“Steal some data… Wait a second… Scott go find out what’s going on! Jarvis Assemb…” The ground beneath Stark breaks into pieces as an earthquake shakes all of New York. Vision, Thor and Hulk jump to Apocalypse who blasts all three of them knocking them into the falling building.
Storm makes each Avenger without the flight ability hover beside her as Apocalypse flies towards them.
“Someone has already broken in and gotten what I asked them to get. Now it’s time for pain.”
Naruto throws a rasenshuriken that goes through Apocalypses’ body and he dashes to Naruto’s face with blinding speed smiling, his eyes glowing bright red.
“I am the end.” He says kicking Naruto in the stomach.
“This assault is the beginning.” He then elbows Naruto’s head making him fly downward into Peter who catches him by his collar. Apocalypse flies after Tony who begins to maneuver around the falling tower. Debris falls around him as apocalypse shots red blasts from his fists each blowing debris around them.
“Are you trying to hit me or is this just a race?” Tony asks looking back then turning to see Apocalypse in front of him. He grabs Tony’s skull and throws him into the tower then flying back to the top.
“Tony’s down Charles. Apocalypse is on the way back up.”
“X-Men, Avengers don’t linger to far from storm and you will have continues flight. Try to hit him with everything you got. We can’t let him continue his alliance with Doom.”
Each of the heroes fly towards Apocalypse who makes a villainous smile. Hashirama is the first to attack with a wooden dragoon shooting out of his fist. Apocalypse knocks it to the side and kicks Kakashi who attempts a lightning blade. Raikage fly’s in with his lariat hitting apocalypse’s neck but instead breaks his arm.
“Ah! What the..!?” He is then shot in the face by a palm blast knocking him unconscious and he falls downward. Storm catches him with her levitation midair as Charles races forward.
“Stop this madness!” He yells attempting to take over Apocalypse. Everything freezes around them as the two battle out their minds.
“Not this time. You won’t beat us this time…” Charles says floating to Apocalypse face as time begins to slowly move forward around them.
“I am The First One. For this is just the beginning.”
“This will not be the Apocalypse.”
“You’re right. It shall be my kingdom!” Apocalypse yells creating an orb shockwave that pushes everyone away and knocking Storm unconscious, leaving everyone falling to the ground.
Sakura slowly opens her eyes to see a large green beast fighting against a large blue man. She slowly makes her way to her feet leaning against a rock as Tsunade walks next to her.
“Stay back… we have to find a weak point…” Tsunade says.
“If this thing even has one…”
Tony crawls from the rubble, his suit slowly attempting to regenerate.
“What did they take Scott…. Scott!?” Tony says as he slowly flies to Apocalypse who is fighting against a raging Hulk. Hulk attempts a Hulk smash as apocalypse grabs his arms slinging him into a tower miles away.
“Damn you. This was a brand new tower jackass!” Tony yells shooting a large blast from his chest. Apocalypse stands in the smoke, his suit broken to pieces as he walks to Tony his eyes glow red.
“You’ve made a mista…” Apocalypse is suddenly wrapped in a sealing jutsu with paper bombs covering his entire body. Hiruzen and Naruto appear out of thin air as the two continue to slap bombs upon him.
“The new electronic paper bombs… they multiply upon impact.” Lee whispers.
“Now Grandpa Third!” Naruto yells as Hiruzen enlarges his staff and smacks apocalypse into the sky. Naruto throws a lava filled rasenshuriken that enlarges twenty feet then explodes the tags creating a sonic boom that echoes throughout the town.
“That won’t kill him, but it was a hell of a try guys…” Tony says as someone begins to speak in his headset in a crackling voice.
“Hello!? It’s Scott I’m trapped in the rubble but I know what they took stark… I know what they took.”
“What was it? Wait where are you? I’m on my way!”
“They took Charles’ plans. They most likely will have a way for Sasuke to get back now."
“Son of a… Jarvis like I was saying before.”
“I’m sorry sir?”
“Assemble the Avengers.”
Thanks for reading! Apologize for the late release just wanted to take my time with this book. Last one was just way too underwhelming imo. Chapter 3 will be released sometime next week! Going to make more drunk threads now!
