He wears the Akatsuki ring with the symbol "?" ( Boar ) on his right little finger. Zetsu can also split himself into two, in which case his halves grow back their missing body mass.
Personality:
Primarily, what anyone will mention if they asked you about Zetsu is his cannibalism. The way an Akimichi thrives on beef and pork, Zetsu thrives on human flesh. He often talks to himself. His white half is slightly good-natured, but his black half ( which is his more dominant personality ) is rude and sadistic.

Abilities:
Zetsu possesses what can be termed one of the best escapist techniques, the Mayfly, as well as numerous other plant-based techniques. He also has the ability to "record" whatever he sees.
Zetsu is also a completely trained Silaat warrior, and knows every technique of that fighting style. He can be considered a Taijutsu master, knowing Kaito's Taijutsu as well as a few of Kaito's techniques which aren't included in the Global List of Taijutsu.
He is a signer of the Wolf Summoning Contract, and can summon all animals of that contract including the boss summon, Meiunha.
As a Kiyoshi Warrior, Zetsu is able to sense people through locating their natural energy. His energy is also a distinct deep purple in colour.
He also possesses the ability to perform four Kiyoshi techniques - Universal Song, Improvisation, Energy Wave and Energy Spear.
Aside from his Kiyoshi training, Zetsu can also sense people through the abilities of his sword, the Kariteserei. The Kariteserei has an advantage in that it can sense the elemental chakra being used as well as some other abilities including increasing the speed of all handseals.
Zetsu wears the sword strapped across his back, the hilt above his left shoulder for reach with the right hand.
He also possesses a set of custom weapons called "The Blade Set of Ronin" comprising of four swords, given to him. He wears the large sword diagonally across his back, the opposite way to the Kariteserei accessible to his left hand. The other three katanas are stored in a storage seal on his hands that can be summoned to his hand if required.
He also possesses an indestructible tachi given to all members of the Varangian Guard, and wears it on his left hip. This is his primary weapon while using the Varangian Guard's single sword techniques. As well as this, he wears two of the special Varangian Guard bracers that enable release from Genjutsu at the cost of self-damage.
His most loved weapon, however, is his Tonbogiri, one of the Three Great Spears that is stored in a seal on his right shoulder.He possesses about 25 explosive tags, fifteen kunai, about ten meters of ninja wire and about thirty senbon in each pouch, of which he has two, one on each side so even when he splits, each half possesses a pouch.

Background Info.
History:
After a brief stint in the Akatsuki, where Zetsu functioned as their spy and watched as their organisation was destroyed by the Jinchuuriki, Zetsu escaped from the impending final assault and managed to survive unscathed.
Wandering the land, Zetsu came across an annoying person who called himself Kazuku...kun. Instantly getting into fights with him, Zetsu came out on top in nearly all his fights, generally because said Kazuku was such a bad fighter tactically speaking.
The first few months of Zetsu's existence outside the Akatsuki were focused on obtaining training from the more powerful people he could find, which included a certain water master called Hellsbadass among numerous others.
His first serious conflict came when he fought with a strong fighter called Skye Kaguya, with whom after the battle, bitter words were exchanged on both sides. It would be a long time before a partial reconciliation would even occur.
He was then acepted by an extremely skilled fire-user called Elias ( who himself was the student of possibly the best fighter in the Ninja World ) and began training with him and Elias' apprentice, Roku. The bad news was, though, that Kazuku...kun was also accepted as Elias' student, so Zetsu had to put up with him for some more time.
During this time, he was also involved in a rather convoluted conflict between ANBU Root and ANBU Black Ops, which led to him being employed by both sides to double-cross the other. Luckily, ANBU Root slowly became inactive and he never had to really do anything. Focusing his efforts on ANBU Black Ops, he worked with them and their leader, Anbu Kakashi.
He was also involved in a rather strange turn of events, where he headed the Hyuuga Clan temporarily, even though he really wasn't a Hyuuga. This was due to there being, at that point, no strong Hyuuga. In a while, talented and strong Hyuuga began flourishing, so he abandoned his position and set off again.
At this point, he came across a stunning kunoichi named Rei, with whom he fought, this turning out to be Rei's first fight. Unfortunately, Zetsu still lost, because Rei was just that good.
Irritated beyond belief by Kazuku, Emperor then finally made a truce with Kazuku...king after nearly half a year of rivalry and the pair agreed to become brothers in a fashion.
Zetsu then was inducted into the powerful and philosophical Kiyoshi clan by Roku Kiyoshi, and within a few weeks, into the Ninja MedSchool run by the same Rei mentioned above and an evil ninja named Nexus.
He was also able to convince Rei to at this point teach him Yin/Yang - though he learnt only the basics - and also learnt acupuncture from her, on being able to strike effectively with weapons.
His legend growing from now onwards, his battling becoming stronger and stronger, Zetsu was asked into Amegakure. Quickly working his way up there, he was made Ame no Ichiban Gokousenshu, the First Warlord of the Rain as well as being the head of the Ame Hunter-Nin Corps. Unhappy with the state of affairs after the Nidaime Mizukage, Kirabi, took over, he betrayed Ame for Kusa, which was run by a Kaguya named Goro. He became Goro's trusted advisor and second-in command of Kusa.
He met a certain enthusiastic Taijutsu specialist - shades of Gai, anyone ? - named Kaito, from whom he learnt his unique Taijutsu style. He became good friends with the Taijutsu master, and helped him create new techniques on numerous occasions. He was also asked into the Fallen Angels, run by the same Kaito, where he was Gemini.
Zetsu also participated in an Eight Gates Tournament and a Curse Mark Tournament, but the former was rendered inactive by Goro Kaguya turning missing for a long time, and he left the latter to focus on other issues.
He also learnt the famed and feared Music Arts from the same Roku Kiyoshi, as well as the Wolf Summoning contract.Finally, after a while of just enjoying life by fighting and eating whoever he met, he was elected Daimyo of Kirigakure, and worked with yet another Kaguya named Alucard, with whom he is still undergoing a fruitful partnership. He also beat down on Kazuku...kun ( now called Nero ) and earned the Kariteserei, one of the swords of the Seven Swordsmen from him.
He now battles occasionally, his reputation preceding him on every fight. He can be safely said to be within the top ten best ninja in the world.
Other
Zetsu, on his path to the awesome that he is, made numerous friends. A few of them being the above-mentioned Hellsbadass, Roku, Rei, Nexus, Nero and Kaito; and many others such as the sword-biting Caliburn, the strange Lawliet, the hot-tempered lizard Ragnaroc, a talking straw hat Mugiwara, a devoted to fire Kagutsuchi and others.
He also has made many people swear to kill him at some point, including, but not limited to, TenzoX and Icemyster. But he will :nexus: them anyway ^^
