Oh, and I forgot, the series has an entire map drawn up for it, so it follows that it should have had a timeline as well. If it didn't need one, then it doesn't need the other. Could also have shown changing borders & stuff over the years every time they showed that map there.

That's because their influence is waning hard these days. To give perspective, more recently popular series such as Attack On Titan aren't taking any pages from their books, and few if any even look in DB's direction for inspiration. One Piece is chugging along, Bleach is over, and no one cares...
