Awesome :) Ye there are a few places like that, you could even completely make up your own small village in a random landmark so you have a lot of freedom

You could always conquer the temple with the monks in on Okuninushi's peak in the lightning mountains as well xD Its up a mountain which could be fun

Honestly you can spawn pretty much anywhere. Have a look through the landmarks and see what you like and what might match the beginning of your missions.
