Absolutely not, filler is filler. The fodder was jobbing to Buritto. And if that wasn't bad enough he was overpowered by a Rasengan. That is the only true canon here. It's pretty good, I think you would like it. A lot happens in it, that seems to be distracting but it only shows the increasing bond betwern the two. Love Hina was solid, it was probably the 5th/6th manga I read.
