All itachi did was place Amaterasu in him to use on Tobi, sasuke gained his own mangekyo when he found out the truth about itachi. It is stated that to awaken the mangekyo, you must witness the death of someone close to you.

Is it supposed to be the final arc? Or is there supposed to be more after this?
