He was originally meant to be evil right? but kishi changed him? right? from his first appearances to me he looked cold, evil and as horrible as they get.

I have watched all of DB, DBZ and GT, i think the original naruto is around the same as all of them, both of them have there ups and downs. I'm sure we don't want to start a flame war on that though

Personally, I recently started watching naruto and am up to the filler arcs, but from what i have heard, shippuden is more complicated, exciting, the plots are better and better villains, it just would annoy me if people forgot about great characters such as rock lee, hiruzen sarutobi etc...
