I still prefer the first one as I mentioned before but that second one is really growing on me. I think it would be a cool addition if you could perhaps choose between the two, make the second one a bit smaller perhaps, and we had the choice to make it a transparent background so our Avatars could shine through it.
Just a rambling thought.

Yes. Lost of work to do and not a lot of time to do it. But after this week I’m off for two weeks on parental leave again so that fun (I will be playing warframe as my child rests on my bosom)

Because I thought that was upgraded to 5 jo matter if you're creator or student.

When you became able to utilize your fifth slot upon becoming a sage to utilize it however you wish. So if you want to learn a 3rd one with that slot, that's what you can utilize it for.
For me, in example, I own/co two (Algae and Dark Vacuity), while having learned three myself (Solar Wind, Perfume and Seraphic Water).
Whoops, I lied, I learned two, own/co three lol, but same concept

I can't remember what update it was but I thought that you could create or learn 5 elements in any combination. I might be wrong though.
I thought the restriction of only creating 2 and learning 2 was lifted
