Was the first hokage used to make zetsu or just give them more power, thats what yamato was used for when they captured him

Im not really new to NB but am to the forums. Ive seen every episode of Naruto and Naruto Shippuuden I would like to say that i know alot anout Naruto but im sure you guys and gals know alot more.
