I think Obito choose the name Tobi to be Ironic. Tobi is a shortening of Tobirama, and we all know Tobirama hated the Uchiha and loved the Leaf Village. Obito is the opposite of that: he hates the leaf village, and he loves the uchiha. Just a thought I had.
