Hanabi would logically be the next heir since Neji is in the branch family. The branch family wouldn't start leading all of a sudden.

I doubt Sasuke can beat Madara. I don't think that Madara is able to be defeated at all by any of the characters in the series. We'll see though, he will probably be defeated in the end by Naruto seeing as how Naruto is the main character.
