They both force their teacher to respond to their actions and then the teacher decides to sacrifice himself for the next and actual destiny child. Thus why Minato sacrifices himself for Naruto and Obi-Wan sacrifices himself for Luke.

Actually I didn't even think about it but you can compare Tobi killing his teacher, Minato, to Darth Vader killing his teacher, Obi-Wan. There are SOOOOO many similarities.
