Well the nine tail's real name is Kurama and the four tail's real name is Goku. Kurama is also the name of a character in YuYu Hakusho and he is also a fox like the nine tails. Goku as you obviously all know is a character from Dragon ball z and he is an Ape just like the four tails. So I think...

The nine tails thinks all humans are the same. They just want to use him for his power mostly because of Madara. However I think the nine tails is realizing slowly that Naruto isn't like that.

Kurama (the kyubi) will probably help him. He seems less resentful towards Naruto.

If he knew the same amount of information Naruto knew when he fought Pain, then he could have won.Don't forget Pain already had some information on Jiraiya, because he was his student and all.
