I still recon that blocking the users line of sight will work. It is just like Amatarasu in the sense that it is a jutsu aimed and directe by the users vision. If you break their line of sight there isnt much they can do. Something like hidden mist which obscures the user through dispersing...

But a sharingan could tell the difference between the clone and the real thing and you have to use sharingan for Kamui

Why not put a barrier up between you and the user so that their vision is blocked and the kamui cant be directed at the target?
