I think that kakashi's kamui is one of the unique characteristics of his mangekyo sharingan, tobi's likewise. To use susanoo 'both' amaterasu and tsukuyomi must be mastered. Kakashi also does not want to damage his eyes using either of these techniques so its possible he has tried them before...
