Best option would be for Naruto to be a hokage, but have shikamaru as his second hand and advisor. Becouse knowing Shikamaru's personality, being a Hokage would be too troublesome for him. And Hokage have to be strong enough to protect village from threats like PAIN, Orochimaru, Akatsuki, etc...

They were about to carve his face, but formall ceremony was not made. So there was still time to cancell carving of his face. Otherwise it would be funny to see how they make a fools of themselfes by carving face of non-hokage person :D EDIT: atleast there is a ready slot for Naruto's face now.

He wasnt officialy Hokage and that sais pretty much everything. It was said in previous chapter. He would have became hokage if he havent been killed by sasuke. Simply the Kage meeting got in his way of officialy becoming hokage, so there is no need to carve his face, becouse he is just random...
