It's just my speculation but I think they need to be in the area where they want to travel back in time because the scroll has a limited duration. :)

maybe but they took so long i have high expectations for this

If the scroll has the power to time-travel, I think there would still be limitations, like any attempt to alter the past would result in the cancellation of the technique, also it could have a limited duration, etc. Oro might not have been able to complete it because his arms were sealed by RDS.

If Sasuke fought Hashirama it really wouldn't alter the past; just another win for Hashirama that he'd probably forget later on :p

Well I don't think Sasuke is going hostile on anyone if he time travels to the past, he just wants answers, to see things with his own eyes and decide afterwards what must be done, and like I said I think the scroll's power has limitations, like pre-destination paradox, the inability to truly change the past, limited time travel duration, etc.

I think I get your meaning. He goes back in time to meet "them" and can only use the scroll to talk to "them" in the place he's sent to. Maybe there's a time limit or barrier, can't leave, can't do anything but talk because he can't change the past. Then he returns with answers.

Doubtful but an interesting idea and it has been done before in other stories.

If it's physically, I would hate it.

If it's a spiritual way, where nobody will see him, and he just observes, what happened, I would be fine with it.

But I think it's those ninja cats, whom he and Itachi knew U_U (jokes)

I like the spiritual idea. That's believable!

I'm more inclined to say its' a spiritual/astral projection type of time travel wherein he is only a passive observer of the events that unfolded back then. That's why Suigetsu said "this data/information can be even used to gain control of this war" which I think refers to information acquired from spiritual time travel.

I give you the professional word of a long time fan of the Sonic The Hedgehog series, that time-travel... would be an awful thing to do.

This may be an unrelated comparison, but from my experience with video games and time travel plots, it does nothing but mess up the whole continuity, time flow, creates more plot holes, and in general is just uncreative. In most series, doing 1 time travel is very difficult, because that alone creates plot holes found by fans and causes demand to go back again and fix something, and then later on they end up resorting to time control for various things, and it all just gets confusing and annoying.

If you ask me, time travel is a big no-no.

Well being a fan of Chrono Trigger and Soul Reaver I know full well about the repercussions of time travel. :D
