How does using mokuton suddenly defeat minato ?

He loss because minato was faster.Using mokuton changes nothing.

And Tobi killed konan
Why not use mokuton?

Just makes me think Tobi didnt even have ability to use Mokuton, only when connceted to mazou or something

No I mean I expect someone to make an Obito (age 14) > Minato thread. Which is true.

He does have the ability, as you have said before. It just wasn't shown. Maybe it wasn't thought as of yet.
Just like Hashirama's wood dragon/flower power jutsu and Tobirama's S/T.

Tobi was hiding his power, he only used other powers besides Kamui unless necessary, a perfect example is Izanagi.

Besides, he used it through the Juubi twice now.

Well, no one has really pushed him far enough to use Mokuton in a battle before.
