The Hyuuga juinjutsu sealed it away.

The question as to why only the Branch Family have the seals can only be explained by the general power level difference. Because the branch family don't have the same advantages as the main house, there is always the risk of rebellion, like when Hizashi tried to attack Hiashi, so the Juinjutsu allowss them to control them



Also, the main branch is considered to be more powerful and therefore less likely to need extra security, except in cases like Neji. Having said that, it isn't a secret that Hinata's byakugan seems to be able to see further, we only saw Neji's byakugan see 0.8 Km whereas we've seen Hinata's byakugan see 10 Km.

well in part 1 neji talkd about the branch family's 'fate' to protect the main branch so the branch always sacrificed themselves for the main family so the main losing an eye wouldn't happen
