Pros:

His only damaging jutsu is Rasengan, which really can't kill anyone.
He died in his prime, so that was pretty much his full potential.

We've only seen him twice and yet he's out smarted and out done his opponents do a degree were they should be ashamed, to even call themselves Shinobi.
Your implying that he can't learn jutsu without a "women"? This is a major troll... He's very capable of learning and creating jutsu on his own, by merely using his observation skills. Kushina was his wife and yes she taught him some techniques, does that mean he needs her? No.. It simply means that she's the only one that can help him improve his sealing abilities.
His nickname is tacky? I guess this is a matter of opinion, although that name was giving to him because of his incredible speed. He's actually named after the fastest known element in the world.
I don't believe that i have seen a girl with hair quite like his... Then again,
i see that Gai's your favorite character, if you believe his hair is cool then i understand your confusion.
His rasengan is actually one of the most powerful jutsu's there are.... People underestimate it's power.. It's incredibly powerful, that kabuto who has incredibly healing abilities couldn't recover from it. Obito was only able to tank if because he was made of Zetsu, which is the only reason he was able to take it and walk away.

You may disagree, that's your opinion), never the less there some of the strongest people in the manga ( Main characters) .. What do you expect? I also wonder who the 19 year old kid your talking about is? I'm assuming that it's itachi.... Well he isn't 19 and he never surpassed him.
He never died in his prime either... He could have improved his arsenal even more, unfortunately he never had the chance since he sacrificed himself for naruto and the village.
