Final Fantasy X

I'm stuck on the battle where you're on top of an airship headed to the city of Bevelle to interrupt Yuna's wedding and then this giant wyrm named "Evrae" appears and I can't beat him... hints and tips please?

Heal alot, god its been forever. He keeps comin back right? I think u have to attack and when he does his big attack defend. I think lolz. Does scan work? Its a flying reature so use lightning

Also keep wakka luna alive. Long range is strongest

to the guy who said use thunder magic... yes scan works on it but when I checked the data it said that it has no elemental weaknesses and all magic does 1/2 damage on it :L

Oh man... That is probably one of that hardest bosses in the game if you are not far enough into the sphere grid with your characters. What you want to do, is memorize Evrae's attack patterns. Then use the according character to take care of him. When you are keeping Evrae at long rang, which you should for most of the battle because I found him easier to take care of at long range, you use Wakka, Lulu, and whoever else to support those two while they attack. If you need to bring him in for close range, use Tidus, Auron, and another person to support them with healing.

You just have to keep at it. Eventually you will get it. My first time ever fighting Evrae it must have taken me five or six times before I finally beat him. The next play through I did of that game I made sure I trained like a beast and made that battle easy as pie. It has been a few years since I have played FFX, but that is the strategy I used. With a lot of bosses in that game, you just have to get used to their moves and try to predict when they will use a certain move. Then switch in the right characters. Good luck.

I just inflict darkness on it and after a few attacks I move the airship back

Cast haste on Tidus then slow on Evrae. The key is to time Cid's movements of the ship using Rikku and Tidus to avoid the poison attack. Try using cheer to increase damage but the most effective way to take it down is to be as close to it as possible so Auron and Tidus can finish it off.

This is also what I used in my strategy. This is a good way also. Listen to him.

I always use Wakka, Rikku, Auron and Lulu. Wakka for inflicting darkness/long range damage, Rikku for her Use ability, Auron for Power Break and Extract Abilities, and Lulu for long range magical attacks and Focus

I think i just beat the **** out of it with wakka then moved it in and used tidus and auron. Haste is good. And alot of cure. That was prolly second hardest boss for me. Yunalesca being the hardest

Just check who is nearest to it in the Sphere grid. Everyone at one point can learn every spell. I got so freakish on X that I maxed out my entire sphere grid for each character.

Yunalesca was hard, but I actually had a harder time with Seymour on Mt. Gagazette (sp?).

Tidus has first access to slow and haste if your using the beginner grid. Also long range attacks are halved at full distance from Evrae so keeping close is still the quickest option. Lulu is only any use if she can use level 3 magic such as firaga, thundaga and blizzaga. But even then Evrae has passive of halving most magic damage.

it sucks how I taught Yuna Cura.. nek minnit shes getting married and one of my only ways of healing is to use either Mega Potions or Al Bhed Potions

for me Lulu has only up to the spells that end with "-ra"

The sword I equipped on tidus is called Avenger with the Passive ability of counter attack. My strength is pretty high and so is my evasion but my defence and magic isnt that great

Bah, seymour was easy for me. Ummm only other memorable hard boss (ending was freaking easy) was in the forest? I remember fighting a geltion creature? (Played this game one time all the way through then returned it. Loved it. That was 5 years ago.)

Then I wouldn't bother using her. Best party would be Rikku, Tidus and Auron when in close using rikkus al bhed potions tidus for cheer, slow and hast and auron for damage. When you need to move far away switch Auron for Wakka and Tidus for Lulu but keep Rikku so you can keep commanding the ship.

That is partly why this battle is so hard. At this point most people only had Yuna as a healer. Which leave Rikku to do the healing with her mixtures, which is actually quite handy.
