Neji died first? Irony?

Okay, so I just thought of this:
Throughout the whole of Part one pretty much, Neji was the strongest out of the konoha 11. Part two, he is a jounin, and is still one of the more powerful ones, obviously being overtaken my Naruto at some point during the series. So I find it ironic how he's regarded as the most powerful, the 'genius ninja' of the konoha 11, yet he is the first to die out of them. I am by no means bashing Neji, he's my second favourite character, so don't start thinking I'm hating on him, but I just thought it was rather ironic. Anyone else think that?

Neji definitely wasn't the strongest Genin in part 1, Sasuke and Naruto were easily superior to him.

Still, it's not as ironic as it sounds. If one is to risk his life, then let him be. They didn't necessarily get killed, but sacrificed themselves. If Neji were to get one shotted by Madara, then maybe.
