Hogtied, Gaglione was subsequently taken away in a patrol car.
Gaglione filed suit against the department and the officers involved, but the video evidence that eventually won Gaglione $250,000 this past November was not immediately forthcoming. Gaglione's attorney Howard Price claimed that Hernandez failed to check a box on the arrest report stating a video camera had, in fact, recorded the incident.
But the footage was eventually uncovered and the California Highway Police settled the case out of court and the officers were never required to testify, nor was the video ever submitted as evidence. The CHP has not commented on the case and the two arresting officers remain with the force.
Meanwhile, the now far richer Gaglione has left Los Angeles with her now 9-month-old son and, she says, she'll be forever terrified by the police.

link (video on site) :

Now, I am not throwing all cops in the bandwagon, obviously most of them are genuine people with moral standards..
But while you watch the video in the link and notice the cops getting agitated when the woman doesn't turn her back to them, don't you think they go way too far with them telling you what to do?

- Did anyone here have any personal experience with police brutality of some sort?

Had a dog sent after me and my buddies one time. We hopped the fence and scattered like roachs. We weren't exactly innocent though.

I know man. I've came across some pretty nice cops before, but I have met some complete D bags as well. You should have seen the London riots man, everyone went nuts!

im a first nation's person in Canada and put up with cops like these. well not all cops but some. i was hit with the butt end of a baton in the back of my head. i was walking by him and he stepped in to me on purpose and said what am i going to do? i was walking away and said nothing. then he says thats right, thats all you f**king people are good for and then walks up behind me and hits me with the butt end of his baton

cops kicked in my apartment door and drew their guns on me because they thought i was a drug dealer without any solid evidence and no warrant. took them to court but the judge ruled in their favor for "just cause".

Assuming you are telling the truth, where the hell does this behavior come from? I'm sure the government has its dirty hands in this as well. I've even seen this SHOCK program in which jail folks are being tortured with shock therapy, and mentally trashed so they create perfect obedience.

Yeah there was a case over here in the states i believe...Where this man was minding his own business when all of a sudden is rushed at by a cop and then was being suffocated...He died in a hospital a day later..I hate police for this kind of behavior..

Well, when you don't obey, that's exactly the treatment you should recieve.

That's coming from a close-minded obedient point of view. someone who doesn't ask any questions.

I train and deploy with a unit that is something of a weird mix of soldier/sentry and police officer. A lot of our work is done with civilians - security operations and vehicle vettings. We have the concepts of force, the use of it, and the justification for it beaten into our heads non-stop.

Why? Because even when we do things properly, by the books, and with every measure taken to correct the situation without force... we're going to be the bad guys in the media. So we'd better have our **** straight so our own guys don't have to lock us up in Leavenworth.

I've seen officers behave in very inappropriate ways, and I think it is mostly due to a lack of proper training or an overly developed sense of control/authority.

It happens in that line of work - you begin to see people as less of a person and more of an object or thing you work with. Since you know many of the rules/laws/processes, and you have expectations of what is supposed to happen - it becomes difficult to identify with the average person... who has no clue what is going on or way of instantly knowing what it is you want them to do.

You tell people over and over and over what to do - you know the routine in your sleep... and it becomes easy to become detached from the people who come through and don't know the routine, who don't know what to expect, and who try to act as if they are your equal or superior in the situation (particularly if you try to tell them what their job is).

Other times, you just have bad apples - people who don't have common courtesy or respect for others. Some are in the "good ol' boys club" and will have people scurrying to cover their ass in the event they get caught doing something stupid.

Don't know why I'd bring this down to the human race crave for power. It isn't only in the police. Authorities do such thing in different areas as well.

Thanks for your comment. Informative read.

bolded 1: hm.

bolded 2: Cops should keep in mind who they work for which is not the state but the well being of the people. Ofcourse, they should be able to punish disrespectful civilians but I am only pointing out towards the actual misplaced sense of justice when violating people physically and mentally when not needed.

exactly .... we cant just sit there & take the **** that we're getting ...the cops need to talk to us first & see what the hell happen first instead of just going on a rapage for no reason ...... in some cases of course
