Anbu are a lot poor without Itachi and Kakashi!!!

Anbu, the ones who are selected directly by hokage, have turned out to be quite weak. They lack the necessary strength to take down s ranked criminals. They have failed countless times during konoha invasion in doing anything substantial.
Wonder how good they would have been if they had the likes of Itachi and Kakashi in their ranks. They have ceratinly failed to find any replacements like those. The next best anbu coming to mind is Yamato, who again promised a lot but delivered less.
So, I think Anbu without Itachi and Kakashi are just other group of shinobis.

Anbu really sucks for being these glorified specialists. Any genin was better than most nameless anbu fodders we've seen.

They could not stop oro's bodyguards. Even k11 genins like neji did that later.

They are not fodder you are just comparing them to the top dogs who are atleast kage level and they don't get much spotlight so you can't say anything, the few that get are atleast elite jounin yamato,kakashi, torune, fuu, kakashi. Fuu and torune were in root. And even sai was in root. So, lets not compare them. Besides, even these don't compare with kakashi or itachi to any extent.

Well, what i meant bu this thread was that anbu(who had the likes of itachi and kakashi in their ranks once) have certailny got a lot poorer since they left. As they belonged to anbu, i have to compare anbu with and without them.

OT:
Sai was practically not elected by the Hokage. He was raised to become a Root member.
Yeah, those two Danzou people were okay
but still they couldn’t prevent that their boss and at that time Hokage was killed by one single person called Sasuke (!).

If we look at Anbu as a secret service organization it’s not successful
which leads me to the conclusion that the majority of Anbu members doesn’t do a good job,
ergo most of them lack in capability and/or are not so intelligent
so we can consider them to be fodders without any hesistation.
