Advice on drawing hands

So I can't draw hands for crap. Every time they come out retarded so pictures that were awsome look stupid or incomplete cause I left them out. I took art as an elective once and we drew hands for a week but it didn't work out for me. Haha So advice please. Then maybe I can share them with you guys. Greatly appreciated! xd

Well, some months ago I had the same problem...and instead giving you any advice, I'll recommend you the book that helped me:
-Hogarth Burne, Dynamic Anatomy
The guy has a very solid and realistic style, so you might want to simplify the traces....but to read it and stare at the illustrations really helped me.

What part of the hand do you have most trouble with? Wrist, palm, fingers...?

Hands are most difficult to draw because of the fingers, Most people have trouble with the shape because of that (Including myself a while ago).

Here's a litte tip that will help you out a LOT: Make the shape you want the hand to look like with your left hand and start drawing looking at it every time Good luck.

this^. A reference would be the best way to go, so you have something to look at while you draw. It may be a little weird but have you thought abou getting a maniquin hand? It can hold a shape or a pose while you draw it. You can also try doing a rough sketch with the finger blocked together then go back and add the finger details later.

I've always found this dead easy, so here's how I do it.

Depending on which angle my hand is, I start drawing from the knuckle and up to the end of the finger. It helps since I can focus on each segment of the finger and make sure they are all proportional to each other.

Try not to focus on creases until you've done the outline, but focus on the way the top of the fingers curve inwards, and the underneath of the fingers curve outwards.

Once the fingers are done, the rest of the hand can be drawn easily as it's more of less the same size as your fingers.

i used my own hand for reference. i know this is not easy but with practice, youll get it.
