Where do I begin, let's see remember the explanation of the 8 gates
There have been different translations but ultimately mean the same. Unlocking all 8 gates you will gain power greater than the 5 kage/a kage/any kage. It was also said the 8th gate alone is stronger than the other 7 combined. Why would it say this if you cannot unlock the 8th gate by it's self:shrug: it's because you can! and this will be the key to Lee surpassing Guy. If he learns to unlock the 8th without the opening the previous gates he would be stronger than Guy with 7 gates open and possibly not die from opening it since he only release one gate.
Now this may have already been done by Guy himself. When he used afternoon tiger on Madara he didn't seem to release the gates. There was no sign of red skin, white pupils or glow around his body, this may have happen because he only open the 7th gate by itself. In one of the Movies Guren open only the 8th and 2nd gate and had none of the symptoms of the gates. I believe it is not required to open the previous gates to open the higher gates.
The 8th should and will most likely be opened and the gate techniques are based off the The Four Symbols (Chinese: 四象; pinyin: sì xiàng) are four mythological creatures in the Chinese constellations. They are the Azure Dragon (simplified Chinese: 青龙; traditional Chinese: 青龍; pinyin: qīnglóng) of the East, the Vermilion Bird (Chinese: 朱雀; pinyin: zhūquè) of the South, the White Tiger (Chinese: 白虎; pinyin: baíhŭ) of the West, and the Black Tortoise (Chinese: 玄武; pinyin: xuánwŭ) of the North.
Each one of them represents a direction and a season, and each has its own individual characteristics and origins. They have been portrayed in many historical Chinese and Korean myths and fiction, and also appear in many modern manga and anime.
1-5 gates you get the lotus (black tortoise)
6 gates you get MP(Vermillion bird)
7 gates you get daytime tiger(white tiger)
8 gates you will gate evening/night time dragon(azure dragon){azure is blue when opening 7 gates you get a blue aura}
There is an uncommon 5th creature the yellow dragon and it maybe come from opening the 8th gate by itself, done by Lee? Lee will have his moment but what will happen when he does? I think Lee can potientally survive it if he get medical attention afterward.
