Why does shikamaru only fight women?

My guess is that he's a ***** i mean yeah he fought hidan but he didn't fight like a man we've never ever seen shikamaru throw a punch,a kick,a headbutt nothing like that so i'm pissed off cause shikamaru is a decent character but i really wanna see him punch someone hard! why don't shikamaru fight a man? why don't kishi have him at least throw a punch at obito or madara i'm not trying to be funny but the way shikamaru fights he should have been a kunoichi or something sakura is more butch than him we've seen her fight lots and lots of men like naruto,konohamaru,sasori,kabuto,sai,lee,kiba and zetsu.

Shikamaru is baws. He fights kunoichi soo we get the whole "Why do i have to fight a girl?" routine. this was partly for comic relief at the time. He could never be serious, he could never go ALL OUT. Being a complaining slacker was his role. We were supposed to think of him as a background character. It added to the mystery that was shikimaru.

Until he avenged Asuma sensei; we never really knew the extent of what he could accomplish before--because he refused to go all out. Almost everyone can agree Shikamaru turned into a badass. What happened at the end of series one? he vowed to never mess up again.. His comic relief routine was over.
He fought Kin/Temari/Tayuya in the original series.
He fought Kakuzu---somewhat, Hidan, and Asuma in shipuuden. That's it.

Shikamaru got paired with girls at the beginning to add to the comedy and sense of his lame-ness, but I also think it was to underscore his maturity and growth potential.

Because he has to keep at least some of his characters on a believable scale. If he upscaled every character in the manga to DBZ calibur, he'd lose a good portion of his readers. And as smart as shikamaru is Kishi had to give him some sort of balancing characteristic, in this case his physical incompetence.
