Agreed. For the most part it was a bit dissapointing. Erza is much more powerful than that. Her first armor was the heavens wheel one...her weakest probably to face such a fast, powerful enemy. Then she switches to the admantine armor, purely defensive and otherwise sluggish armor...again, weird choice.
I think he's making it so that drama raises up to the next chapter but overall, i think Erza was too easily overpowered.
And as for Jellal's expression...Can this Lucy not be real? the one from the future that is. And this destruction...who will bring it? What is going to destroy the town? Acnologia? Zeref? Its a bit weird that something will be destroyed with no enemy in sight. The only thing i feel must be wrong is why would lucy from the future take so much time to reveal herself if the goal was to change the future?
Well I have been thinking about that the past few weeks as I got up again with the anime (I just watch the anime once in a while, then let the episodes again pile up for a few months, then watch all those new episodes and repeat the same cycle) and the more I think about it, the less this entire situation makes sense.
Let's recap: As I have understood it the Grand Magic Games have been held for 7 years, meaning it was already held in the year Tenrou Team was locked in the Fairy Sphere. For the normal people it was just entertainment and to decide who is the number 1 guild, however the original purpose from the start was the Eclipse Project and the driving forces behind that were Arkadios and the Princess and the reason as why they did that was because Future Lucy notified them about the future.
If that's true it means Future Lucy has been around for 7 years, meaning she was already there in the same year the Current Lucy got trapped in Fairy Sphere and that everything related to Zeref and the Eclipse Project finds its origin in Future Lucy. However Future Lucy came from the future to avoid some kind of catastrophe. If all of that is correct, it means we absolutely know nothing about what this catastrophe now exactly is as everything related to the Eclipse Project and the Grand Magic Games was to prevent this catastrophe. So hypothetically speaking if Future Lucy didn't come to the past, there wouldn't be something like Grand Magic Games and an Eclipse Project. So what is this catastrophe then? Unless of course Hiro uses the theory of that the past nor future can be changed and that time travel is part of the timeline itself and thus can't change the original flow of time as traveling to the past was from the very beginning a part of it and by Lucy doing so she might have caused this catastrophe by attempting to avoid it.
The biggest problem is that Hiro isn't really clear on the details on how much Future Lucy now had an influence on the Eclipse Project and when she now exactly came to the past? I mean if she came 7 years ago, what did she do then all this time? Was the Eclipse Project then really the only way to stop this incoming catastrophe?
No matter how you look at it, as Jellal said there are things here that don't make much sense.
