Do you guys think FGT is a last ditch effort that the Soul King made in case the Royal Guard fought an opponent too powerful? The FGT makes you lose your Soul Reaper powers but what is it effect? I think it also makes the opponent lose their Soul Reaper powers. Remember when Aizen's zanpakto was disintegrating? I bet that was Aizen's soul reaper powers disappearing also. Which would explain how he got sealed, because the Hogyoku had no use for someone without Soul Reaper powers.

FGT is a technique unique to Zangetsu and Ichigo only. The Soul King has nothing to do with it.

Although I'd extend it to Isshin as well. He knew of it and during his training with Ichigo in the Dangai he seemed to imply he used it at one point

Yea Isshin and Ichigo have been the only ones so far to become one with it zanpakto.

But Ichigos FGT was most likely on a higher level because Ichigo also became one with hes hollow side and shinigami side at the same time thus giving a superior FGT.

The thing that makes me question the FGT is.

Could Aizen sensed Isshins FGT version or not.

Since Aizen was not able to sense reiatsu on Ichigo while in FGT form.

Yeah Isshin probably used it because he mentioned it to Ichigo in the first place.
