If you look at this picture you'll see that when itachi ended edo tensei and vanished the sacrifice was on the floor what puzzles me is why when itachi disappeared did it show a close up of the body? is that body important? whoever it was had the leaf uniform but anyway why when the other edo's disappeared didn't the sacrificial body remain?.

the fact that it was a leaf shinobi was symbolic indicating his allegiance to the village

I don't get it. How can that be symbolic that he cared for the leaf village while in death. I do believe he cares about the leaf village though.

But the problem here is that we are not sure if this was important or not. Remember that Itachi couldn't have controlled which body he entered. Nor would he ever choose to kill another Leaf villager just to leave a symbolic message behind that he cared.

I do not know the answer to the question. So I hope someone else does.
