Why didn't Danzo make himself a candidate on the Hokage position after Hiruzen died?

because 2 of the legendary sannin was in the way Jiraiya was going to be hokage first but he said no and went to rome the world instead and well then tsunade but you know that bye know Uchiha Inza

Because it would have been irrelevant. Jiraiya had returned! He was Sarutobi's first choice for Hokage. All other options go out the window. The elders knew of this and they approached him.

Where are you getting that information from..I don't recall that ever being stated.. the way sarutobi talked about oro.. genius that comes once a decade etc... it seemed he wanted Oro to be his sucessor.. but he din't choose him because he had evil tendancies... then It was Minato or something after gaining fame in the 4th war

That contradicts what that scan says... to me Hiruzen wanted oro to be hokage, but he was too much of a messed up individual, then Jiraya was the obvious next, but he didn't want to take it, Minato was young but more than good enough

Obviously here there is a difference of what Tsunade THINKS the third wanted, and what the third himself actually wanted

You're joking? he's saying right there he hoped that orochimaru would become hokage.. It's in plain english...you see the academy shot pic of him looking at orochimaru as well and thinking this

Cause Jiraya obviously was 1st choice. Danzo is was too old to be hokage, when a few people from the legendary sanin generation were still alive, J-man and Tsunade. So it was better to chose one of them. So he had to wait, till they were disposed of.
