What did Kakashi actually do to Zabuza during their first fight?

This is one of the things i had difficulties to understand in this manga, maybe people could help me to understand what happened? In the fight against Zabuza, it seems that Kakashi used sharingan to copy Zabuza's movement, then proceed to copy his mind, then copy the jutsu like Zabuza says

When i saw it the first time, i thought at first that Kakashi only copied his jutsu and used it faster than Zabuza, but it seems that Zabuza said genjutsu was involved somewhere and i don't know where and why. Sharingan can already copy jutsus, so why use genjutsu to begin with?

Zabuza says that Kakashi suggested what seal he should perform thru genjutsu:

Basically he put zabuza in a genjutsu and made him think of jutsu's while kakashi did the same jutsu. Somethingg along those lines but I can't remember exactly

Just my two cents here, I'm not an expert about this fight, but have in mind that this was first jounin vs jounin clash in the manga, and Kishimoto probably wanted to make it look as complicated as possible.

Kakashi cast a genjutsu that suggested to Zabuza that he was doing his hand signs slower than Kakashi so it seemed like Kakashi was doing them at the same time or ahead instead of copying him and made Zabuza see himself right behind Kakashi.

Well kakashi is usually faster than zabuza and with sharingan he can even see the slower movement so by that he crushed zabuza by raikiri.

I think Zabuza had several jutsus lined up in his mind. He is a shinobi so it stands to reason that if has half a brain, he is eyeing the different possibilities. Then I guess Kakashi sees those jutsus with the sharingan, extracts the jutsus from Zabuza's brain using a mix of sharingan and genjutsu, and makes Zabuza use those seals with genjutsu. Knowing the seals, kakashi b**** slaps zabuza with his own jutsu. Just a wild guess

to put it simple i think it is genjutsu zabuza probably performed the hand signs before his brain caught on

He began by copying Zabuza's hand signs. He then cast a genjutsu that made Zabuza think that Kakashi was doing his hand signs at the same time and then eventually faster than Zabuza himself. Kakashi has been said to have copied many jutsu so he finished the hand signs himself when he realized what jutsu it was.

Kakashi copied Zabuzas first jutsu(he's really fast on seals so the jutsu began the same time)
Zabuza got uoset cause Kakashi copied that and started talking...Kakashi guessed his word and finished his sentence wich made Zabuza to think he could rear his mind...that time Kakashi used genjutsu and created an image if Zabuza standing next to him and implaed ti Zabuza wich hand seals to make and Kakashi actually made them first since he was the one to implied the jutsu...I think thats pretty much how it worked
