I failed German so idk .. :lmao: It is the writing of the characters that will get me ^_^
Oh dear, not to be mean, but you actually did choose one of the most difficult European languages to learn!xd at least in my experience, people in school would always complain about how difficult it was, and how easy Spanish is..
The Chinese characters even I have trouble with, but the rest you won't, I bet. If you do, as my Japanese teacher told me,
"Practice, practice, practice" -_-... Good luck.xd
YES!!!Dattebayo!
Anything specific? =DD

Aaah, how I would love a traditional Japanese house, much like those yakuza bosses have. <_< = >_>

Wing chun is Kung fu, which is Chinese.xd I know because I trained it myself for about a year and a half! :D
However in Japan there's lots; Karate, Judo, Japanese jujitsu, aikido and so on!

@Zamki: I feel you. But as far as I know, Japanese work really hard, so if you do, be prepared:cool:
I'm applying a computer engineer major at university, hopefully it'll open some doors.
If not, there's exchange programes through the Japanese courses!=DD

Shinjuku, for example, is a veeeery well known place in Tokyo, as is Shibuya, Akihabara etc. these places even I know about, not having even been there.. I'm so jealous. I'll make note of those places in my planing!

Interesting. You do seem like a Japan enthusiast xd Are you planning on going soon ? I need to finish school first.. then again I could go on an exchange trip to Japan this year for school .. don't get too jelly

Haha well it was too hard that I stopped working in class :ghehe:
Ah, I prefer writing the words out using English letters .. but I guess it would be useful to know the characters xd

I'm quite the, at least about what interests me about Japan, and that's quite a lot I fear!
Well, no, I'll concentrate on my studies first, however, if I manage to save up enough money: definitely! During vacation or so.
Hehehe~ I had that opportunity as well, but wasted it I'm sorry to say. U_U

I'm not surprised, nothing insinuated, because all I knew whom studied it said how they felt they had learnt nothing at all!xd
It is. The two more easily absorbed types of characters are hiragana and katakana, they're phonetics of sorts, but still used in everyday writing. Compared to Kanji(Chinese characters); it's like stealing a lollipop, not from a baby, but from a sleeping person leaving it next to him on a bench. Really easy.

It has been explained (~°o°)~
And please, use more than a word in your posts, one word posts are against the rules, spam or something. Wouldn't want mods to get you for something so 'minor'.

Haha yeah :lmao: What ethnicity are you anyway ? Japanese or just an enthusiast ?
Yeah same, I it costs a bit + I don't want to stay with a host family :lmao:
Hmm, If it arises I shall take it :y

Haha omg, who are these people ? We can relate entirely xd I studied it for 3 years and only know this sentence :
Ich bin hungrig - I am hungry :lmao:

I guess so ^^ But it is not that easy if you have no experience with them at all :p

I'm a boy from Sweden with great interest in manga/anime and much what Japan has to offer! O^O
Ah, I remember, there are options! For me there was also talk about host family, or dorm and some others like the absurd notion of paying it all myself, debt much.
Atta boy!

... Is it just me or didn't you actually talk about food in your first post?!xd
Coincidence?

Agreed. That's mostly how it is with all new languages, especially speech; it'll be so unclear what is being said, which is why you most of the time must ask them to slow down~
I hope we both get to Japan at least once in our lives, it should definitely be worth it!

Yeah, I just don't like the idea of a having a host family when you don't even know the language :lmao: Maybe I should learn it first .. but I have been disheartened from Language learning ever since failed German :lmao:

Yes I did :ghehe:
Besides food though.. another great thing is the music ^.^ I can't understand a thing but it sounds great :lmao:

Yes, they tell me to slow down when I speak English to them as well xd I intend on going to Japan dw.

Ah yeah btw I am subscribed to this thread , I will reply when I get back online ~ it is 1am and I must sleep ^.^

It could be troublesome, but most of the time I think the host families are actually good at English, so there shouldn't really be too much trouble. ;)
That's really unfortunate! I love languages and think its fun, so maybe you should place German in its own category(hard to learn) and Japanese in its own(fun to learn =DD)?xd

xdxd! Food is great eh?
Agreed 100%! It's not only Japanese music though, for me, as long as it sounds good and there isn't anything disagreeable about it, I'll listen to it!

Yeah, we had a project in school where we worked with some students in a school in Japan. Our teachers told us to talk really slowly and articulate the shit outta our speeches!

See you!

@silverslick: Don't worry, I don't see why one would think bad about you for not having an interest in another country! ;)
Thanks for your input! And, if you could, please vote! Your vote is just as appreciated!

Agreed^^^

Be careful with the short replies, the forum would rather have you make your post more elaborate, especially in the general discussions section. You're new though, or at least you just made your konnichiwa thread, so please be careful from here on. ;)

Btw, only food?xd
Oh well, Naruto made me interested in ramen as well I suppose~

I've always wanted to get more into it. My family grew up training in Goju-Ryu, my sister and I started at 6 and 4 and it became a huge part of our life. What I liked is that my Sensei and Senpai's really tried to incorporate the culture into our training (I'm in Canada so it's not the norm to know these things). Even with the younger kids, they would teach them to count and things like hajimaru (start). I would get so jealous every time my Sensei got to fly over there. I don't know whether I love the Japanese culture, or I just love being in the dojo, but it gets my passion button going!

Mmm~ I remember training Karate, you would learn counting to ten and then there's the 'Hajime' as you mentioned!
Ah, how nostalgic~
If you were jealous of him going to Japan, I'd say that that is at least an interest in going there?xd
