Just wanted to get you guy's opinions on the matter, This is a thread for the Six Jinchuruuki who were captured and killed by the Akatsuki, Excluding Gaara of course. My question is why do you think they were defeated so easily?

Let me just start by saying i am in no way underrating any member of the Akatsuki, everyone knows they were all extremely powerful & talented Shinobi in their own right, But then again so were the Jinchuruuki, I mean can that really be all there is to it? The Akatsuki were powerful so the Jinchuruki lost, That's it? that just sounds way too simple for me.

Could it be that the Jinchuruki may have been too overconfident in their own powers? Did they perhaps think that that having one of the 9 Tailed Beasts of legend trapped inside them made them somewhat of a God among Shinobi? Maybe causing a massive decline in effectiveness of their technique from lack of training?

Maybe they just didn't care anymore? Being feared as a monster by the very people you grew up with, being shunned away from the Village you spent your entire life in, that would be enough to make anyone want to give in the fight, perhaps by the time the Akatsuki had caught up with them, they were already shells of their former selves, maybe they welcomed death with open arms?

Anyways, i know it's an old topic and all but i myself wasn't a member here during the 'Hunting of the Jinchuruki' part of the Anime came up, I never got anyone's personal ideas as to how this may have gone down and would love to hear them now!

Thoughts?

They usually rolled in squads of two but hey... they were weak. They never knew how to harness their Bijuu's powers properly as well.

Well they where kinda outcasts from their villages usually and where tag teamed by two S-rank ninjas

Anyone in that kinda situation is in for a bad time

It was mentioned by Deidara that some of the villiages handed the Jinchuriki over, they were happy to be rid of them.

pretty much this and Isobu the three tails didn't have host and according to Deidara it wasn't smart enough to know how to use it's power properly

couldn't agree more. At first glance of the thread i started to question it myself. But this is true. They never knew how to control their Bijuu's ability 100%. Not to mention they more than likely made a mistake that Naruto made. They probably did become over-confident in their ability and felt they could take care of everything THEMSELVES and more than likely neglected teamwork. Something that we know is crucial. There's a good chance if they had been fighting with a team not all of them would be taken so easily - if at all!

I personally think that it's because a) The Akatsuki were S Rank powerful ninja and b) the other Jinchuuriki probably didn't have the same control over their beasts like Naruto and Bee, with maybe a few exceptions (Yugito?)

see now when we meet the 6 hosts (when fighting naruto) they seem completely different to how they were described/portrayed to us. i personally would like to learn more about them, their background, the hard times and how they all individually went down.

It's a multifaceted answer. The most obvious is the Akatsuki traveled and sometimes fought in pairs. So the odds were against them to begin with.

Secondly, Akatsuki members had extremely rare/powerful and most often forbidden jutsu. Nobody in the ninja academy was taught how to fight against a forbidden justu because the likelihood of running into that person was so low.

My last point is that the fights were likely quick and to the point. Akatsuki didn't give the Jinchuruuki nearly enough time to analyze the situation and have a plan of attack. The only exceptions to that would be Naruto and Killer Bee who fought multiple times.
