Why did Kakashi kill Rin.

Because he found out she friendzoned Obito, and thus did the fitting thing.
The shock was from hearing that he was running around with such a monster for so long.

He can't let anyone see that excessively handsome face unless he marry her so...

Nah...Kakashi never has a problem with that...its just a coincidence that he always gets rescued from revealing his face by the creator

Kakashi probably had a very good reason for doing it and I'm guessing by the shock on his face when he noticed she was on the receiving end of his Chidori, that he did NOT mean to kill her. I am guessing a mind transfer technique was used or a form of Genjutsu...or something a long those lines.

There was no form of facial expression from kakashi that shows he was shocked. He knew full well who was on the recieving end, which is why he started to cry, he knew what he was doing.

U ppl know right that zetsu can make real copies of people so i think that is what must have happenend during that mission and rin might have died way earlier before that incident

Still wondering myself, but as others have said maybe Rin was under a Genjutsu, was a traitor(unlikely), might have been a fake, controlled, or maybe she had vital info on Konoha that the enemy could not get their hands, so he took the kisame approach.

Kakashi must have had a good reason for it, especially when he believed Obito died for her and all, anyways Kakashi will most likely tell Obito what happened later in the story, for now just more predictions and such.

to me it seems weird nobody else has proposed the theory that madara caused all of the events to happen. Although he was limited to his cave he had zetsu to do his work for him. I cant say for sure exactly how he influenced kakashi but genjutsu or something along those lines probably forced kakashi to kill rin in front of obito to cause him to go to the darkness and lose hope.

Don't know why there is an assumption Kakashi killed his teammate Rin directly after manipulative Madara "happens" to say "hey Obito Kakashi and Rin are in trouble go look."

Very possibly a Madara genjutsu.

It wasn't genjutsu, sharingan always recognises genjutsu (not necesarily break it) so they would've known if they were in a genjutsu. And do some people still believe that they were zetsu clones. Well zetsu can't copy chidori or sharingan. So no.

My theory..

A) Either rin was captured and controlled by Madara, forcing kakashi to kill her in order to activate obitos mangekyo as part of his master plan.
B) It was a Zetsu that appeared to look like Rin, which would still activate Obitos Mengekyo via Kakashi
C) Either Rin or kakashi was under a genjutsu and still kakashi killed rin in order to activate obitos mangekyo as part of madaras master plan.

Either or, I still think Madara had something to do with it.

I kinda hinted the idea that Madara was behind Rins death, I mean Madara did create a lot of his own experiments on people like zetsu, obito, nagato, i wouldnt be surprised if Madara experimented on Yagura (yondaime mizukage) and rin, and others at some point.
