Why was Kakashi playing favorite

Minato and kakashi had a good teacher-student relationship,but if you watched naruto part1 how I watched it,you would see that pre-wave country mission kakashi never cared about naruto even though he was said he lost his sensei he never taught his team anything,I don't know but I think he taught sasuke better.And his sensei's son was in the same village with him,he couldn't look after him,he was being an Emo and a pervert with jiraiya.am still baffled to this day,someone should pls help me?

He took a liking for sasuke because he saw himself in sasuke. He said it himself that he use to be like sasuke.
And I'm guessing he didn't show as much attention to naruto because in reality naruto is nothing like his father when it comes to personality. He's straight kushina. So Kakashi was like ehh.

Not only that but if you keep watching you'll see jiryia states to kakashi that he will take over so in reality I don't think it was every kakashi a job to teach naruto he was merely looking over him until jirayia though he was ready

Becuase Sasuke was like Kakashi back then and Kakashi didn't know Naruto was the son of Minato....he just heard from people that Minato was having a son born to him.

Kakshi is very smart,he heared his sensei had a son,and if your put two and two together due to naruto's appearance,and his lastname,its a dead giveaway for even a dumb individual.so it aint valid

I don't think Kakashi knew Naruto was Minato's son, though I'm not certain of this fact (though you have to be very blind to not notice the similarities between those two -_-). Plus let's face it: Naruto wasn't that impressive during the first part. In their first missions he mostly acted like an idiot.

Also Kakashi recognized himself in Sasuke. It's easier to teach someone if you recognize some traits of yourself in them. It also helped that Sasuke was quick to learn and didn't take too long to understand something unlike Naruto.

Also, Kakashi was an ANBU at first so he was away on missions - how could he take care of a child he didn't have a bond with when he was away on dangerous missions?

And if he didn't teach them anything, I doubt they would have been able to do a lot of missions then. For one thing, he taught them teamwork, which was seriously lacking at first in Team Seven

He thought Sasuke Chidori simply because Sasuke got to him before Naruto.

Just before the sound 4 attacked Sasuke you hear why Kakashi taugh Sasuke like that. He saw himself in Sasuke and saw that there was the dark side in Sasukes future so he tried to train him to keep him on the light.

he taught them both a lot. he taught naruto and sasuke how to climb trees, which made them a lot stronger. he worked with sasuke more during the chuunin exams because sasuke's fighting style is more similar to kakashi's, plus they have the same elemental affinity. kakashi himself said this. plus he wanted sasuke to get really strong so he wouldn't join orochimaru, in retrospect this plan backfired because all kakashi did was hand deliver orochimaru a superpowered sasuke.

We know kakashi knew that naruto was minatos son from jump for a fact. when naruto was dealing with haku kakashi wondered if the seal had broken. and there was a reason alot of people stayed away from naruto in the vilage-they knew who he was and it was well understood by all the jounins in the village that the fox was sealed in the 4ths son. Kakashi just like sasuke a little bit more because like him sasuke could use lightening, and fire, and was a taijutsu beast, and had the sharingan and was a genius. they were similar

That was in the Shippuden serie - when it became clear Naruto needed to have more training if he wanted to survive an attack of the Akatsuki.
And if Kakashi preferred Sasuke more than Naruto, he wouldn't have trained him, now would he? You just contradicted yourself. If Kakashi preferred to teach Sasuke, he would never have noticed how Naruto was best taught something.

And it's not because Naruto is his sensei's son that that means Naruto should get better treatment. Let's be honest here: Naruto acted like an idiot at first and had trouble understanding new jutsu's.
Plus like someone else mentioned before, Jiraiya told Kakashi that he would take over Naruto's training while Kakashi focused on Sasuke's training.

Kakashi just found it a bit easier to teach Sasuke than to teach Naruto - that doesn't mean he failed in his role as teacher. Some students are just easier to teach than others
