Hashirama can do this, and more due to him having his necklace that amplifies his mokuton. And even when Edo Madara did it, it was created so fast that Mei, a Kage, called the creation of the forest instantaneous. Asura Path inhales pollen, gets knocked out.
Flower power jutsu > Asura Path.
Not to mention that as we've seen with Hiruzen, the trees can restrain you. So even if he tries to get away, the trees restrain him, he gets knocked out, and that was when Edo Hashirama and Edo Tobirama were toying with Hiruzen.

And if this is Edo Madara's case, why would he need to use mokuton? Perfect Susanoo, GG.
