I seriously doubt Kakuzu can simply over-whelm Sasuke who has a considerable amount of speed and sword prowess.

Kakashi has the same speed and sword prowess can be tied with Kakuzu's tentacles/ Taijutsu or Hidan's own Kenjutsu style. Kakuzu can solo and Hidan there makes it easier for Kakuzu
