no oro was one of the three sannin two of which are known sages and this happened before oro defected from konoha, jugos clan can absorb natural energy but instead of turning into stone statues they usually go berserk in stead.

No ... Senjutsu are techniques/art that consist of being used with chakra mixed with natural energy. A Sage can manipulate them, Juugo's body just absorbs natural energy but he has no control over it's power.
