Madara's and obito's plan very stupid

ok im confused, i thought obito was gonna stay alive and get caught in the genjutsu so he can see rin again, i guess his plans changed since nagato betrayed them but does madara plan to live forever?the more and more i think about their plan i realize how stupid it is

its a genjutsu so it requires a caster which is gonna be madara, he cant keep them in a genjutsu for eternity, doesnt make sense, even if madara is somehow able to live forever, the people he gonna cast the genjutsu on wont, so wats the point of doing it anyways, he would have been better off jus trying to rule the world normally until someone over throws him.


a better plan would be to cast shusui Kotoamatsukami on everyone, since that is a genjutsu that changes you mind set completely

I think it's supposed to be similar to Tsukuyomi in that 3 mental days is only a few seconds in reality - only this time it's eternity.. so the genjutsu never ends and time stops "in reality"

time cannot stop in reality its impossible, also even if madara can make ti seem like eternity, people's bodies will eventually give out, also idk how madara plan to live forever when even the so6 could not

He died later because of old age. When we saw the flashback with the baby bijuus we see Rikudou is old, and wen he became Juubi's jinchuuriki he became beyond human.

So if Obito/Madara becomes the Jinchuuriki of the ten tails they will be on Rikudou's level. My biggest wish next chapter is Obito saying this ''We have the Juubi now, why care about a slût girl?''

I thought you meant he died while having the Juubi

This has already been answered halfway through your thread but you dismissed it. The genjutsu is eternal tsukuyomi, meaning that it's a tsukuyomi that lasts forever. Normal Tsukuyomi is an instant that lasts 72 hours. Eternal Tsukuyomi is meant to last forever instead of that 72 hours, and rather than the genjutsu lasting three minutes in real time, because the Eternal Tsukuyomi lasts forever there cannot be a corresponding finite time that it lasts in real time because a finite number of hours is not compatible with an infinite number of hours.

Forever never ends, so the genjutsu can't last forever in someone's mind whilst only lasting three minutes in real time because in order for that to happen the genjutsu would have to stop. Thus, it is very simple, the instant that Eternal Tsukuyomi starts is the instant that it will last forever. That instant will as a consequence last forever. Nobody's body will die because there won't be any time for their body to degrade. In that department, Madara and Tobi's plan is not stupid and makes complete sense. If you continue to doubt that, I really cannot spell it out any further. However, there are other departments that it totally fails or seems implausible or is morally flawed.

Examples:
1. Free Will.
2. How exactly will the genjutsu going to be cast on everyone... If everyone needs to look at the moon to fall into the genjutsu then the side of the world that is not in night time and is in day time will not get instantly caught in the jutsu... Are they really going to enslave the world bit by bit? And you could just avoid looking at the moon to evade the genjutsu forever...

There are a couple more fails, but people living on and dying is not one of them. And the reason for that isn't even some kind of mystical Izanagi making illusion into reality explanation either. It's just the very simple fact about the eternal/infinite and the finite/temporal.
