EVERY Hyuuga has the Byakugan from birth, while not every Uchiha child has the potential to unlock the Sharingan, presumably not every Uchiha with the potential to unlock Sharingan ever actually DOES (Sasuke and Obito could easily have died beforehand, for example) and not every Sharingan-user unlocks the 3 tomoe-version.

So, in terms of SHEER NUMBERS, the Hyuuga Clan would outmatch the Uchiha in terms of combat potential, even at their height.

I'd doubt this.


This is assuming that the Hyuuga Clan are having as much children as Uchiha. And also assuming that the Hyuuga Clan make ALL their children become fighters, also not true. But the Uchiha Clan is a battle warrior clan, so they more likely influence more of their young to become combat fighters. You cannot make these type of assumptions here.

Your assuming he didnt mean the ELDEST CLAN PERIOD. We know that the Uchiha clan BEGAN with the Sage himself. What if the Hyuuga Clan existed before the birth of the Sage himself? It would mean (technically) the Hyuuga Clan is the ELDEST clan in the Leaf. All up to interpretation.....

This may not be an exaggeration. The Hyuuga Clan may be the strongest BLOODLINE, as implied in this thread. Their bloodline is so strong, that ALL HYUUGA are born with the capability to use the byakugan, not the same with the Uchiha. It all depends upon interpretation......

Lets assume the Uchiha have EXACTLY as many children as the Hyuuga.

EVERY Hyuuga has a Byakugan, period.

Not every Uchiha has the possibility of awakening the Sharingan. Of the rest, not all actually awaken it. Of the rest, not every Uchiha develop it to its full (non Mangekyou) capacity.

As such the Hyuuga MUST have more fully capable Byakugan-users, all else being equal.


If anything the manga seems to indicate the Hyuuga being MORE numerous than the Uchiha. I don't recall exact numbers, but the Uchiha were massacred in a single night without anyone raising the alarm, or indeed noticing it happen. It CAN'T have been THAT large.

There is no manga evidence to support the idea that every Hyuuga DOESN'T become a shinobi. As Hiashi repeatedly states, "The Hyuuga are the strongest in the Leaf!". Even Neji, apparently regarded as little more than a servant/bodyguard by the majority of the Main Branch, appears to have been trained in combat from the age of four or less, and Hinata was allowed full-contact (if such a term applies) sparring with adults when she was THREE:

That doesn't exactly SOUND like a clan of bakers and craftsmen. Sasuke, while Academy age, has FAR less supervision in terms of his own development:

The Uchiha being more of a "battle warrior clan" than the Hyuuga is as bad or worse than any assumption I made. They're the ENTIRE police force. People stealing their eyes in the field was apparently never an issue, unlike the Hyuuga.

It even makes sense if you look at their backstories: The Uchiha were tired enough of war to enter into an alliance with their WORST ENEMIES, with their enemy's leader as their leader, and to CAST OUT their most powerful (and warlike) member. The Hyuuga, on the other hand had no such ideals behind joining Konoha, and their bloodline is feared and coveted by Konoha's enemies. And even potential allies, like Kumo, to the point they'd risk war for a SINGLE specimen. They appear to have been a continual presence on the battlefield.

It looks to me like the Hyuuga were BY FAR the more warlike of the two.

This, said by someone WITH A SHARINGAN (Kakashi) and intricate knowledge of the Uchiha Clan (ANBU). The ANBU were originally in charge of "monitoring" the Uchiha Clan, so they have thorough knowledge of their techniques/capabilities.

CONCLUSION: The average 3 tomoe Uchiha < The average Hyuuga



Everyone here on this website (saying Hyuuga is NOT the strongest clan) is only referring to a comparison of the Uchiha Clan members WITH MANGEKYOU. This is an OP technique that has only been awakened by A FEW UCHIHA. This is not the norm of Uchiha Clan--Exactly why only TWO Uchiha Shinobi were able to erradicate the entire clan... because they had MS. I guarantee you, if Kishi gave the Byakugan an upgrede (like he has done with the Sharingan) there would be a CLEAR superiority of the Byakugan to the Sharingan.

Please list any Uchiha in the manga WITHOUT MS that could easily defeat a Byakugan user. I'll be waiting...

I have no dojutsu but i can clearly see an uchiha foreseeing every attack from the hyuuga's taijutsu and countering them...remember the average uchiha=elite like part 1 kakashi or even better hence they have 2 sharingan. just look at hebi sasuke's feats without the CS.

they're the strongest by default by the fact that the Senju allowed their clan to dissolve itself by breeding amongst the other clans; and by the fact that the Uchiha were also exterminated by 2 of its own, as only another Uchiha could take out the Uchiha given that the Senju were gone
