He was able to resurrect Deidara and he exploded his body into a million pieces. Yes there was the arm Kakashi cut off that Obito could have gotten but does that mean all he needs is DNA to resurrect a person? Also, how was Hidan resurrected if he was immortal?

Hidan was resurrected in a filler. Kabuto just got some of Deidara's DNA somewhere, no idea where  I personally always wondered how he got Nagato'd DNA for example

IDK, maybe Oro had the DNA of the Akatsuki somewhere stored xd

Welcome to the Base btw :D

He couldn't revive Jiraiya because his body is below the sea and didn't get Pain's rods he used to fight Jiraiya with.

now he lives under sea but even if he comes back it would ruin his epic death

I know his body is in the sea, but if all he needs is some DNA I figured he would be able to find it somewhere. He doesn't need the physical body to resurrect a person, if he did he wouldn't of been able to revive Deidara.

Hidan wasn't resurrected, that was a clone made of DNA-copying snakes. He fell apart when the snakes reached the end of their lifespan. They also made a clone of Naruto and Naruto is obviously alive.

If people pay the slightest amount of attention to the show they'd see they made at least some effort to be consistent (in the current arc) and there are less holes and liberties taken than you think.

kabuto mentions that he could have gotten jiraiya's dna from pain's weapons and shisui's dna from danzo's eye
but obito didn't like that idea
