Was Asuma originally intended to be a Sarutobi?

Let alone the third hokage's son? he was never shown to be conversing much with the third or giving too much mourning of the thirds death pre shippuden, i suspect kishi just thought of making asuma hiruzen son and a sarutobi midway in the story wacha think?

Not all Sarutobi's are beast....still Asuma was still strong...he was a guardian of the fire lord or whatever....I'd say he was easily strong, but the problem is his one solid fight he ended up against someone with abilities he didn't know....and it just so happens that person's name was Hidan...unfortunate...

He had the chakra blades, he probably had shadow shuriken, and he had the ash smoke cloud which was a monsterous ability....oh and he had that Guardian technique like his friend had!
