There are to many narbs here stealing threads from different websites and posting them as their own. What a bunch of phonies. :flaw::flaw::flaw:

We've seen how far this went with Dr.Proof who even stole my own threads and style(putting names in title). So is it possible to infract them for posting the same exact thread word for word on a different website. It's really annoying to see people work hard on threads and some A-hole comes and steals it for their own credential gain without any effort.

Dantee, Dr proof stealing your design/ name in title isn't really that bad tbh, but people stealing actual contents of a thread should be infracted imo. Its funny when they copy so much that they even copy typo's/spelling mistakes. I remember when i used to spell rinnegan as rennigan and some troll stole a thread of me and didn't even correct this mistake :sy:

I guess it wasn't all that bad, but that was going to be my trademark and that A-hole screwed it up xd.

But yeah I recently just exposed this guy who only posted threads from other websites. It's horrible for someone to fall so low.

Mad, Sasuke-kun? xd

OT: It's saddens me to see that people really do that.. ( O_O)
More saddening is that we can't infract them! D: Only mods and admins can! :hint:

Only if you copy something and claim you made it

This. If it gives credit, than I'm ok with it.
I mean, I copied a thread my own, however I said it's not mine and that I found it on another website.
Really, I can't understand why is it so hard to credit someone who did that thread?
They put some work there, for Christ's sake!

The problem is, how can you proof it's really yours, if it's from a different forum. Mods only can see the IP adresses from NB members, there is no way they can see them on a different site. So I don't think it will be impossible to infract them, since there isn't any proof that they actually stole.

how would they be able to tell :/

I found out easily using the copy and paste mouse clicks

If he gave credit, I wouldn't have a problem with it. The thiefs logic is that because 'I never said it was mine" so therefore it's ok. Which is fail because if you post something everyone is going to assume it's your own words.

I guess sometimes it is also hard to tell which sucks. Although other times it's to obvious when the threads he stole are from multiple repped users of the other website.

Time/Date created.
If for example a thread on another site was made on 15/12/12. And a person uploaded it here say, 18/12/12, then you know.

thats not gud enough what if the person in question claims that it is him that posted in the other forum or site with a different user name
its common for a person to have different user name in different sites

and NB mods can only check the IP here and there is no way to verify if it was posted by the same person or different person in the other site

OT: i dont find it that big of an issue ....it not like u discovered a big scientific break through or invention ..and another person stole it from you and patented it and profit from it .....

at the end of the day its just some theory abt naruto ....and some internet reputation at stake

Edit: what i've said above doesn't mean i'm supporting the person who steals thread and content ......
but if some one stole an idea/theory/topic from a different site that we might have missed and posted it here so that we could discuss abt it ...meh ok i guess ... it not a big issue imo
giving credits is appreciated and appropriate of course

I agree people shouldn't steal threads unless they give credit and the author doesn't mind. I think the most you can do is report someone or contact a mod.

I didn't think Dr.Proof would steal threads as he has some good posts. Did he copy your words exactly?
