Deidara dropped c3 on his village,he chose to protect his village regardless of the risk like a kage should unlike the scum sasuke who tries to kill his own team mates. Gaara was aiming to capture deidara,as well as using hs chakra to keep shukaku down abd make sure he kept all the sand suspended above the village so as not to allow his attacks hurt the villagers. Sasuke was deidara's perfect counter,and still had to rely on pnj to save him.

2 things. Your right he can't use kirin here, but your wrong about why.

I'll Explain why Sasuke could still prep a kirin here then tell you why it wont work.

First of all, Gaara can't extinguish Amaterasu. It burns for 7 days and Nights and the only way to extinguish the flames is by the doing via MS. Second, Sasuke is capable of setting up Kirin with the simple use of Great Dragon Flame, the simple use of that causes updraught as stated in the databook. BUT, while this is kirin it would be nothing noteworthy, More heat creates a stronger kirin. Agreed?

This is proved by Sasuke banking on Kirin when he didn't even know about itachi having Amaterasu or Susanoo. He was counting on the speed of the Kirin he could create by himself to kill a Susanoo-less Itachi, He simply took advantage of Amaterasu after Itachi used it to create a stronger Kirin.

Now, Gaara would be able to stop Great Dragon Flame in the Desert if he already has sand above Sasuke and Has Taken to the Skies. Otherwise Nothing is stopping Sasuke from Prepping a Kirin Theoretically.



BUT, Sasuke cannot use Kirin here simply due to location. The Desert is a very dry land and is already a very hot place on its own. Theres no humidity in the air or any moisture. Which in turn, means no updraught.

he shoots it not at the sky,he shoots it into the atmosphere to make the water vapour in the atmosphere rise as it is heated and then it goes upwards,and then cools and forms clouds,in a dessert,there is no water vapour,therefore no thuder clouds,there fore no lightening,therefore no kirin.
