yeah, but it's pretty much a certainty now. There's just too much evidence. And I want to be able to say that I saw it from the beginning, instead of being the person who jumps on the train afterwards.
When I first started watching the series back in 2007; I picked it up in the middle of the anime and coincidentally missed nearly every episode that made mention of Hinata. At the time, I was like "Oh, this will be one of those classic stories where the mean, abusive girl learns to appreciate the mildly obnoxious yet loyal guy." Then I caught a 100+ episode marathon on DVR and took a step back: "This... "Hinata"... is unbearably cute..." - from that point on, I knew there was only one way the story could end with any kind of justice.
Though, honestly, I think the 'evidence' for relationships in Naruto is taken to the extreme of interpretation by many of the fans of those pairings. "OMG, did you see that in panel x of chapter yzt so-and-so was looking in the direction of whats-her-name?" Not that I don't do the same thing... but when you take a step back...
Although Hinata has been making some of the most overt moves toward a relationship, lately. Kind of hard to misconstrue what she means by her actions. Unless you're Naruto, who still seems to be a bit puzzled: "But you're Hyuugas" ... Dude... WTF... the girl has been willing to die for you twice, now and already told you that she loves you. How are you failing to understand?
I suppose it could be a translation error - but it comes after Neji's whole: "She's willing to die for you" speech. Which would seem to imply that it's still not quite clicking in his head. Perhaps we need an Impure World Resurrection Jiraiya to spell it out for him (hah... Impure World Jiraiya...): "Alright kiddo, here's your last lesson as your sensei... can't believe you didn't pick up on this before... but here it is..."
